This was a decent follow-up to David Letterman's version of Late Night. Conan was under a lot of pressure as an unknown following a legend in a high-pressure talk-show slot and behind not just one but several eight balls, and he did a credible job and held his own in Late Night, and he made it his own. I think he was reasonably funny and several of his skits were good, especially "In the Year 2000" and "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog." Those were my favorites. He suffered a loss when Andy Richter left but still managed to survive. It was decent entertainment. It shows how well he handled pressure and that he can be a survivor;however, he was not as funny as his predescessors.** 1/2 out of ****

Conan O'Brien has turned into a redundant, boring want-to-be comedian whose stale and tasteless jokes and his embarrassing gesticulations are cringe-inciting and annoying at best! His "show" should have been taken off the air long ago, but he was kept on and now he's slated to take over the Tonight Show from Jay Leno! I guess Leno's jokes about NBC's desperation are becoming reality! When Leno took over from Carson, he struggled a bit in the beginning, but soon after he started drawing more and more viewers to the show and became a serious competition to Letterman's Late Night Show, because there was variety and folksy wit in his performance and he connected with the audience perfectly. O'Brien, on the other hand, regurgitates the same nonsense each and every night! His so-called jokes are so boring and his anecdotes and his behavior so silly he has to pause for the audience to finally laugh or applaud just to get him going! His takeover of The Tonight Show next year will cost NBC dearly and put the show way below others.

hey Mr O'Brien- here is one for your show- my wife and i watched Martha Stewart this morning and her guest was VALENTINO- an Italian clothing designer and during the cook Martha asked Valentino "DO YOU WANT A LITTLE CRUNCH ON THE NUTS"? (when she was blending pine nuts for a pasta)however her audience did not respond to this blurt but my wife and i busted up laughing.this has to get noticed! mike & Angie out. I have to fill out ten lines so my wife and I want to say that we enjoy your show and I remember way back when you went to Ireland in the small town asking good folks of the town if they know where to find O'Brian or something like that and that was the first time I watched your show and liked your talent since.Don't let all the heavies wear down your great humor. sincerely M.Daniel

I'm from Germany (17 years old) and watch Conan O'Brien every night on CNBC Europe! And I'm so thankful for this television station and that they broadcast the Conan O'Brien Show. Not even a German program made me laugh so much (maybe because they are all horrible or the rough drafts are stolen from the Americans and Britains). Anyway I love this show, I love the Walker Texas Ranger excerpts BUT THE BEST THING are the jokes between Max and Conan. And the music from The Max Weinberg 7 is very good. One day I could not get the theme from the show out of my head. I wish Germany would have such a great entertainer!(I'm sorry if I made any spelling or grammar mistakes.)
