Judge Judy takes the souls of all the guilty, and damns them to an eternity of insults and backhanded compliments. With the occasional flat-out insult at the poor culprit's intelligence.Judge Judy manages to blend together all the elements that make a one- stage-show amusing, and carefully intertwines those elements into an intricately designed series. Sure, the basic format may be the same: Two people come into the courtroom, both unhappy, Judge Judy solves the problems. However, the means by which she approaches getting to that point B are so different and set apart from each other that one can't help but wonder what kind of genius Judge Judy is. There is no bargaining with Judge Judy, only justice. If you have wronged someone, expect the swift gavel of Judge Judy to strike down upon your head with the zeal and fury of an angered god. And may your soul be saved if you have the gall to even attempt at retaliating the good Judge's insults. The rebuttal that she will send back is a fury that not even words can describe.

This is a reality series about small claims cases, headed by Judy Sheindlin. It has been running since 1996 and nearly two thousand episodes have been broadcast.Sheindlin has a dreadful, unprofessional, arrogant attitude. She frequently snaps at the people involved in the cases. She's inpatient and angry - often interrupting them mid-sentence to shout at them in a patronising, sneering way. Some cases are fabricated.

Judge Judy is not for the weak of heart! And there is a reason...She is intelligent, she understands human nature, she has years of law experience, and she holds people accountable for their actions. So if you are one of those who are not fond of her, take a look at yourself. Most likely, you are one who wants something for nothing, doesn't take responsibility, cheats the "system", and whose actions have no regard for others (including family). Judge Judy is not rude or cruel. She demands respect and doesn't tolerate dishonesty. Plain and simple. She is a judge and she runs a court room. You do not speak out of turn, you must bring evidence (paperwork), you need to answer a question (yes or no). Judge Judy is a whole lot more knowledgeable than most of you can even comprehend! She has method to her questioning, so most importantly, do not go on the show and think you are going to "get one over on her". More times than not, justice will prevail.

The scowling Judith Sheindlin is paid a very substantial amount of money to be mean and rude to poor people. Never before had anyone been paid SO much money to be so mean to so many people who have so little money. She looks very happy and friendly, smiling in the photo they show on the advertising to watch her show, but she says things to the "contestants" in her courtroom which we certainly would NOT tolerate if they were said by publicly paid judges. The insults we hear her hurl are often very offensive. "Shhhh!!!" and "just a second," she often admonishes the parties politely; but it doesn't take much for her to move on to her more natural rudeness. While she admonishes contestants not to use their own vernacular as the try to tell her their stories, she has no hesitation using Yiddish words that many or most of them don't understand. I wonder how often people are puzzled at the possible meaning of "kerfuffle." I do have to confess, I wouldn't mind hearing her explain to many of them that "axe" is not the way to pronounce "ask." Still, if you enjoy watching the wicked witch of the west in a nicer looking form, as she berates poor people, Judge Judy may be for you. I just don't think it is right for society to so substantially enrich an already wealthy woman who seems to so much enjoy being nasty to people.
