The increasingly famous comedian Amy Schumer continues her raunchy and hilarious sketch show on Comedy Central with a very funny fourth season. The comedy this season didn't exceed others but it still delivered plenty of laughs with great skits that were a spot-on commentary of our strange society.Amy Schumer is not afraid to ridicule her detractors and expose herself to skeptical viewers and it usually turns out to be for great satire and skits that explore difficult situations. Some of the skits just flat out missed or were to over the top to capture the subtle laughs but the majority of the scenarios cooked up by the amazing writing team and the comic are able to make viewers laugh out loud. I loved Amy Schumer as a contestant on Last Comic Standing -- she always nailed her routines. She's always entertaining as a talk show guest. The first three seasons of her show had hits and misses, with the hits outnumbering the misses. The fourth season is dreadful. It hasn't made me laugh at all. It's like watching a dirtier, less funny episode of Saturday Night Live. The sketches go on too long and often fall flat. The few decent jokes offer so little payoff that you feel cheated. It's as if she is phoning it in now. It seems like the fame has gone to her head and she no longer relates to her audience (as witnessed by her recent fan interactions).

I watched a couple of seasons of the show while it was free on amazon prime. Then they stopped offering it and I stopped watching it. Ticked me off as I had just really started to like her and get a good laugh from the show. Her humor was definitely off color and not PG, but then so what, it was funny. Some skits were less than but her stand up was good and the show had places to go because she is funny and in spite of her downplaying it she is a pretty woman. I liked hearing a woman poke fun at topics normally reserved for men, which made them all the funnier. She has talent and I'm frustrated with Amazon Prime for killing a show I was watching with no warning. I generally like the service but that habit of not providing a countdown on how much time I have to watch something for free is getting old. While I like being able to buy a season of a show for $30 when I'm catching up, and I have, I think that purchasing that online which eventually becomes free is even more annoying. But at least in that case I got what I paid for, the chance to watch the show when I wanted. Killing what I'm watching with no warning is not cool and they really need to post time left, especially the to give me a heads up that its going away in 2 months or less. So Amazon Prime introduced me to a show a liked, think I would have like more, but don't really know because they whacked it before I got a chance to see it. Worth watching, yes, worth buying, no. Especially under these circumstances. Good luck Amy, I think you have talent.

She's a one trick pony relying on sex jokes to get by, which would be fine if they were actually funny. Every episode uses the same exact jokes and the situations only get worse with each passing episode. Now don't get me wrong, I love raunchy humor as much as the next guy but only if it's clever and hasn't been done a million times before. There are countless female stand up comics that are much funnier than Schumer and would put out much more original, funny sketches. Comedy Central has gone downhill the past few years and this and Brickleberry show that beyond a doubt. At least CC finally had mercy on us and cancelled Brickleberry. Here's to hoping they do the same with this and finally (fingers crossed) put out another Sketch show near the level of Chappelle.
