Sarah Lancashire is truly the most incredible actress and this role is a tour de force. Just brilliant television all round. As a Brit I actually feel really proud that we can make television of this quality. The setting and characters are so authentic and realistic. Highly recommended.

Superb performances from all actors, but the shining light here is Sarah Lancashire, this lady is so supremely talented I find it hard to believe she doesn't have that accent and she isn't really a police officer.The writing is first class, the story is thoroughly gripping from start to finish, my only regret is that I've finished all the episodes on Netflix. Hope for a new season is high, could be 2019, but whenever it is, it's not soon enough.

Raw edged, thrilling and engaging. Drenched in the local Yorkshire area, the characters seem to come all natural, ripped out of real life, full of human strengths and weaknesses. The story line has, for me, the right balance between rate of evolution and depth. This combination really has me engaged. Side note: season two has a couple of weak characters, rendering it lees interesting than season one.

Happy Valley is an on the edge of your seat at times police drama that is second to none in excellence. It is well written, directed and produced. I hope there are more episodes produced because I'm now a true fan of the series. Each actor is perfectly cast for the parts they play. It is an intelligent show that gives the audience credit for being smart as well. Kudos to all involved in the making of this brilliant show! It shows real life as it truly is which keeps you interested in each stunning episode. There is no prejudice with the characters. From poor to well to do, each character is played brilliantly. The title itself is interesting because it shows what a small town can be like, truly. Cheers, C.
