Amazing show with excellent writing and acting talent - worth watching only for Michelle Dockery who does a great job!
... View MoreMichelle Dockery can act. The range she has and the way she has nailed down her character. Not talking about delivery of one liners, but her out of control behavior in Season 2 episodes 7 through 10 were downright cringeworthy, she looked almost insane and was so believable as a hung out, strung out, guilt-ridden lost cause she really deserves some recognition for it.
... View MoreI binge-watched the first season of this show and absolutely loved the Michelle Dockery character or perhaps more like loved Ms. Dockery. The plot is a tad thin in this first season, but I was able to go along with much of it and suspend belief just a tad at some of the antics. There are some holes and clearly the characters in order to keep the story rolling, slip through them. The end of the final episode of the first season was fine and while it left me perhaps wanting more, I could have been just as happy with the show ending there. Unfortunately, the second season takes the sublime and makes it ridiculous. The FBI characters, all of them not just the lead one who appears in both seasons, are more mall cop than educated intelligent professionals that we are used to seeing wearing the FBI jackets. The rogue FBI agent is so unprofessional to be merely a cartoon of herself and completely off the reality radar. While she seemingly lends comedy to the story, she also becomes absurd and whatever she touches does as well. I am sure that the local Raleigh, NC bureau must be totally embarrassed by the portrayal. The second season is unnecessary and is merely there to make money for TNT. It is not good television.
... View MoreMy husband who is not much into today's TV shows is "counting hours" until GB is on tonight. So am I, of course. We love this show, the characters, action and themes of each show. No, Letty is not his "hall pass" he loves all the characters who are not monochromatic and we find ourselves rooting for the criminals and against the "system". Also, by the way, I only saw polls for 18-49 years of age, I think if you polled an older group, which we are, the ratings might very well go up. Our friends love this show also and we all still purchase a lot of products, therefore sponsors (and potential sponsors) should not ignore retirement aged watchers. Looking forward to tonight's episode in five hours!
