I love this plot and show more than Walking Dead or Stranger Things. I pray there will be a 3rd season on Netflix!

What caught my eye was the premise. Also, those Aussies do a damn fine job at producing provocative gritty drama. Alas. I quickly found myself wondering what I was watching. One minute you're engrossed in edge of the sofa drama. Next, it flips into an mind-numbing episode of Home and Away. Hang on. Did he really do that? Did she really say that? It makes no sense! I agree with a previous reviewer - the writers are trying to create drama at every turn. It fails. In fact, at times it's laughable. It struggles to find its genre. It becomes perplexing. Eventually, finding out what's at the heart of the premise isn't worth the bother.

Glitch: Season 1From the first five minutes of this show I was hooked and reeled in. Probably one of the strongest openings to a first season that I can remember. Even such TV Titans as Game Of Thrones and Sons Of Anarchy took a few episodes to get into their stride. Glitch however is a show that starts very very high before descending into silliness.A small backwater town in Australia is the setting where the dead start crawling from their graves. Not Zombies but alive and well people start emerging from the dirt with no memory of who they are or how they died. A fantastically strong opening that is well staged. We soon begin to learn about each of the individuals as they are given shelter by the town Police sergeant and the local Doctor. There's a wonderful early scene when the sergeant (James) played by Patrick Bramhall discovers he has a strong history with one of the risen. The opening episode had me telling friends and family that this show is a must watch. Shame then that I will probably be left with egg on my face as the show progressively continued to lose its initial brilliance. Don't get me wrong, Glitch doesn't turn into a bad show, it just stumbles where to go after the brilliant intro. This is mainly due to none of our questions get answered. The actors in this show help motivate the audience to watch to the end. Emma Booth as Kate in particular is a stand out but everyone involved puts in a good turn. I think maybe it is the writing that let's the show down. There's abrupt changes of heart from characters. Silly choices made and stand out inconsistencies that can't go unnoticed. A good example is when the recently resurrected 1850's town mayor is more shocked to see a statue of himself rather than the passing of a modern day automobile. To a guy who's been dead for well over 150 years the mundane family hatchback would look like a UFO! Another being when newly risen murderer John Doe almost chokes the life out of the Doctor only for her then to jump into the sack with him moments later. I've never reviewed a show before that started out as a 10/10 only to slowly deteriorate due to silly little niggles. Characters don't respond to the news of people being resurrected naturally. Also none of the risen characters behave as though they have been dead for any length of time. The only notable example being when World War 1 hero Charlie played by Sean Keenan looks at a modern day TV set and asks what a cartoon is.I think if you can ignore the few niggles that I have raised and the many more you will discover for yourself I think there's enjoyment to be had with this show. So much so that I look forward to Season two with hope. Maybe we will get answers, maybe the inconsistencies will be ironed out. Check Glitch out. The first thirty minutes are worth your time at least.

...are the terrible editing and ludicrous dialog. There are no end to scenes in this series that jump from one moment to the next that contradict previous scenes. For example, in S2 E1, Kate meets a guy at a lake she's swimming in who comes clearly out of nowhere. They start to chat, She seems clearly uncomfortable and puts on her shirt. Cut to another scene. Cut back to the lake scene and she has no shirt on and the guy she was clearly trying to avoid and she are buddy-buddy having a comfy "chat." Lame dialog: James and Sarah are talking next to their newborn in the hospital room...James: "You almost died Sarah." Sarah: "No biggie." James: "that's because you don't remember it, but I do." Sarah: "Ok. No, I was standing in this long dark tunnel..." You get the idea. Stupid, vapid, lame and also meant to be a joke they are sharing. Dumb.
