I'm sure I would have liked this show 10 years ago, but it's pretty average now. Maybe TV has come a long way... but I have now watched 6 episodes, and struggling to get into it still. Literally took a week of trying to get through the first episode. Not sure why all the 9-10 star reviews. So many shots that lag too long so that you think your TV is frozen, jokes that aren't funny, plots that aren't believable.

The cast of this entertaining and intelligent science fiction show gave such humanity to their characters that it seemed they soon became like family. Always imaginative and original, Eureka was distinguished by the personal relationships that brought such warmth and life to each episode. It wasn't just the remarkable creativeness of the program that captured the hearts of viewers but the themes of loyalty, friendship, and love as well. In fact, these elements are the show's very center and without them this might have been only a cute idea and nothing more. But it was much more and Eureka will remain a happy memory for many of us as we look back with affection upon what became some very special television.

A town that is cloaked from the world's view and by accident is entered by Sheriff Jack Carter and his daughter, Zoe, who at first is a trouble maker than finds out she is actually very smart. She is smart enough to make it to Harvard. Interesting characters, Henry, Fargo, Joe, Zane and many others that are to smart for their own good which leads Jack to save the day every time except once when the town was knocked out by one of their own, leaving Joe and Zoe to save the day. Very fine show and the entire series can be seen on Netflix. Check out the show, had three good Christmas episodes including the one where everyone gets animated.

RIP Eureka. It was a novelty and pleasant dinner time entertainment. A few of the characters were drifting into caricature, but the cast, by and large, carried well. Alas, the artless programming execs at NBC/Comcast have killed another hit and flipped TV Land the finger - again! Expect a succession of flops to replace the hit show Eureka. Advertisers get suckered into buying time on "new" shows at inflated prices. When the show flops, the programming droids commission another flop and so the cycle goes. Hit shows seem anathema to programming execs - especially at NBC. Perhaps canceling hits and finding new shows makes them feel needed. They are not.
