Watched the premier of this and thought it was amusing. When the real season started, we tuned in again, but this time couldn't get through 10 minutes. Why - because the contestants were so obviously overplaying their enthusiasm and excitement that it was too annoying to sit through. Granted, we aren't really game show watchers, but have tuned into Jane Lynch's game show from time to time and enjoyed it, so thought this would be similarly enjoyed. We were wrong. Ellen lost us at the first bout of incessant squealing from the contestants.
... View MoreI've been to a bunch of episode shoots of game shows in my youth, so when I see people freaking out about the audience/fake audience I just took off in my roflcopter.I watch that audience and I think to myself "Man, either the crowd-warmers on that set are amazing or their effectiveness is just amplified by the fact that the people both in the audience and competing on this show are all adrenaline junkies... or all of the above."...and then of course, there are her FANS - most of whom I imagine would all be super excited to be part of a new "Ellen" show and potentially meet their idol in person - and/or those who could get star-struck excited, on top of all the above....in addition to the "privilege" of playing for Ellen's amusement.Seems like a perfectly logical outcome, in my opinion.AND, that's how I choose to enjoy it. :)
... View MoreThe contestants act really dumb. They act as if their IQ is under 73. The answers they give are almost always stupid, ruining this show for me. Please don't watch this show it will most defiantly make you sick to your stomach.
... View MoreCan a show with this many special effects and so obviously scripted be truthfully called a "reality show?" This game seems mainly crafted to be a showcase for Ellen's standup and sitcom type of one liner humor.
