This iconic series is filled with iconic one liners, childish drama and overacting. Everything you could ever want while smoking a joint and being a queer individual. Iconic camp classic.

Desperate Housewives tops the list of shows that fall into my "guilty pleasure" TV show category. For most of these so-called guilty pleasure shows it takes several episodes before I'm ready to decide whether or not I want to continue watching. But Desperate Housewives has been the only show of this type that I became hooked on after just one episode. It's completely unrealistic, at times outrageous, and incredibly addicting. It combines entertaining characters and adult humor with scandal and a splash of mystery...basically everything you could ask for in a guilty pleasure show. I found the adult themes and humor throughout the show to be just enough to be entertaining but not too over the top to be offensive or cringe-worthy. In other words, I wouldn't watch this show with my niece but would still be able to watch it with my mom without awkwardness. The narration was well done and added to the uniqueness of the show. Unfortunately though, the last two seasons were a miss for me. I found many of the new characters that were introduced in the last two seasons to be unlikable and the story line became much too outrageous, as if the writers were trying too hard. On a positive note, it made it easier for me to accept that the show was ending as I may have been more disappointed if the last two seasons were as good as the previous seasons. All in all though, I highly recommend Desperate Housewives for any woman looking to add to her collection of binge-worthy guilty pleasure shows and I wish there were more out there like it.

To keep it simple, this show is one of my top favorites, along with the show Devious Maids which was also created by the same man, Marc Cherry. It's entertaining, it's dramatic, it's gossip-y, it's juicy, it's ridiculous and most of all, it's funny and at times, witty. The characters and the acting is great. You really learn to connect and have an attachment/liking to each character and there's also aspects that make you roll your eyes, but all in all it's entertaining to watch and that's what we watch shows for - entertainment!I've watched the entire series and I've gone back to re-watch it again and it's still entertaining. The nice thing about this show is that there is CONTENT. I can't stand shows that have filler episodes where nothing happens, nothing in the story changes and you aren't left wondering what will happen next. Not with this show, there's also little shocks and twists along the way.

I just finished the last episode of DHW and I just have to say that I am sad. I watched all 8 seasons on Netflix and I got so caught up in the drama that I would stay up until 12 sometimes 2 am watching it. I loved these women like I knew them. I felt every emotion with them, sad, happy, excited, heart broken, etc. If this series was brought back to television I would for SURE watch it. I am so happy that Tom and Lynette got back together, that broke my heart to see them break up. My favorite of all is definitely Susan! She is hilarious, cute, clumsy (like me), beautiful, smart and oh so witty! Thank you so much for such a wonderful show.
