Let me start by saying Gilmore Girls is my favorite show. Ever. I have seen the entire show all the way through 4 times and still go back to watch my favorite episodes. And when I found out Amy Sherman Pallidino did this show, I was so excited. But I watched the pilot and have never seen such garbage. The show is about a Vegas dancer who is basically being stalked by that awkward guy from Ferris Beuller. Despite the fact that she has been blowing him off EVERY MONTH for A YEAR, Ferris Bueller's buddy just doesn't get the memo! He spends tons of money to buy her things and take her out to dinner, but I don't think he knows anything about her. And then she agrees to marry the freak??? Now, granted, she does not appear to be the brightest crayon in the box. So maybe this seemed like a good idea. Who knows. But at this point I am so turned off by the completely awful, acting, ridiculously far fetched plot, and pathetic and hate able characters that I turned it off. I wanted to like this show. Really. Truly I did. Especially when people compared the humor to Gilmore Girls. Do not be fooled. It is not funny. It is not creative. I cannot think of a single redeeming quality. Don't waste your time.

Bunheads, a very appropriate title as it does focus on a group of 4 ballerinas and their teachers. What really grabbed me from the start was the fact that it followed in the Gilmore Girls show path, in more way than one. Many lovable characters were brought in from that show but what I truly loved was that this was another quick wit, keep you on your toes dialogue. Michelle, who enters town as a stranger, becomes the center of the show quickly and keeps you on your toes (pun not intended) with her quick wit, humor yet also keeps your interest when she's in a "down" mood. That doesn't happen often. Her mother in law, played by Kelly Bishop, is eccentric yet also down to earth. A relationship that starts very rocky turns around slowly. I like that they did it in real life mode, not made them love each other within 3 shows. I found all of the characters endearing and was as hooked on it as quickly as I was to Gilmore Girls. The 4 main ballerinas, whom are high school students, are endearing. They face life's true problems just like any other high school girl. I highly suggest you watch this if you haven't yet. *if you haven't seen this show, DON'T READ THIS!* I'm still left wondering why they cut this show short. Everyone that I talked to who watched this show, loved it! I really was hoping they'd reconsider and bring it back but it's been obvious to me for a while now that isn't going to happen. It's hard to find shoes like these and was really disappointed when I learned there would be no more Bunheads. It was a great show for my daughter and I to watch together, she's now 21. It wasn't just for the high school crowd. Bummer!

The expression "wow" pretty much represents the twirl of emotions i feel when i watch Bunheads.Wow, why fake the reviews on a TV show. It's not like you have to bring people to the theatres, newsflash, if people watch something on TV and it sucks, they got a thing called remote control, one button and voilà', they're watching something else.Wow, that Bailey Buntain is smokin' hot; check out her hot bod. Big shoulders and blond hair, i could watch this show just to see her. Wow, this show is slipping rapidly. Nice pilot (i believe someone else wrote this on their review .. and i agree), but after a rapid plot twist, we're left with a girls-only show where "who wears what dress to the party" becomes enough plot material to make an episode. This show is supposed to have some great supporting characters but someone forgot that supporting characters are supposed to be an addition to the main plot line, and as it seems now the main, Stacey Oristano (Truly "Awful" Stone) quickly did a sidestep out of centre stage, and is now just standing still while other characters pivot around her doing her stuff. The Mother is essentially the main character (if we go by number of lines which, in cinema AND theatre, is generally a good indication of who is really the main character) yet it was written to be the pseudo- evil bitch who might/might not turn into a heart of gold. Ofc all we get is "whine whine whine" "i'm old and i'm a mum and i used to dance".The little girls are just not impressive as actresses; yeah OK, so it's decent for daytime TV (meaning "that which is on, but you don't *actually* have to watch it"), more or less the same acting level of Buffy or Twilight, but this show cannot in any way compare to the new shows such as Girls, Whitney (and other W.Cummings shows), Suits, etc ..I can't really watch a hour long show just to take three 10-seconds peeks at Bailey Buntain's sweet derrière; if you are like me, you would do well to avoid this and not waste your time waiting for something cool to happen.Honestly i'm not even sure what this is. Comedy? Drama? i don't know.vote reserved for now, but not really more than a boring 5/10

I was a huge fan of "Gilmore Girls" and when I heard that Amy Sherman Palladino was creating a new show, I was eager to watch it. I grabbed my remote this past Monday night, my bowl of popcorn, and snuggled down on the couch to watch the premier episode of "Bunheads." After watching the entire pilot, I was left . . . wanting. I know many pilots are hard to judge as they are to jump start the new show, but remember, this is from the same woman who brought the amazing cast of characters that was "Gilmore Girls." I am NOT comparing the two. I am comparing the quality of effort put into the shows.Bunheads is about a former ballerina turned Vegas showgirl who gets married quickly and ends up in Paradise, a small coastal town, where the man she married is a prominent feature in the town and his mother plays an important part in his life. Not only is his mother important in his life, she lives in his house, and she also runs a ballet studio--shock and awe abound! His mother was a ballerina, his new wife is a ballerina! *Sarcasm intended* The main draw for the show is Sutton Foster (much more known for Broadway and it shows) and Kelly Bishop (who does not sparkle like she did in her previous roles.) The girls who are the four "stars" of the dance studio are lackluster and have no real chemistry with the show at all, especially the girl who plays Sasha. The Sasha character is supposed to be an angst character who has daddy issues and is bored with life, but the audience can tell that this is the actress' first role as she is a completely flat character. Every time she would open her mouth, I would cringe. The other three girls are not as bad; however, the inexperience shows.I will not continue to watch this show. There have been many actresses that have successfully moved from Broadway to TV, but Foster's acting feels a little too forced. I feel Bishop gave so much more in other roles and maybe the writers do not feel that they have to write quality work for her. Bishop is a dynamic actress, but when the writing is horrible, it's not worth watching her. Finally, until all of the girls get in good acting classes, especially the Sasha character, I will continually be turned off by the acting.Overall, I was disappointed and I was looking forward to seeing a great new show. I expected more from Ms. Sherman Palladino and ABC Family, but I think they decided to rely more on her success with "Gilmore Girls" and their success with some of their other shows, e.g. "Make It Or Break It," "The Lying Game," "Pretty Little Liars," instead of concentrating on quality writing, acting, and production of what could have been a great show.
