I was excited to see the latest offering from Steven Levinson, with input from Mark Wahlberg. The success of Entourage and the character arcs were interesting, and each episode felt complete, almost like mini-movies. So why not apply this winning formula to the Football world? Well it seems they tried and in my opinion, failed. Standing by itself it's an OK show at best, but I feel cheated after the end of Season 2. It's almost as if 2 seasons have passed and NOTHING has been resolved, or happened. Spencer's arc is boring and feels like it's going nowhere. I don't see any other arcs going anywhere and the season ended on a dull 'nothing' note. So, comparatively to entourage it falls short, is OK on it's own, but ultimately, is mildly entertaining and has some insight into the corporate world of football. Disappointed in the team though.....

Dwayne Johnson does a good job acting as the retired pro football player Spencer Strasmore. This show is a mix of Californication and house m.d. Hes portrayed as a guy with chronic pain after a injury on the field, he thinks he can make a difference for players handling their finance, but struggling finding out who he really is after a pro carrier in football and a divorce."Warning" semi spoiler below"The show has its moments like season 3 after they get thrown out of a strip-club and Spencer deliver hes speech for the footballers. There are flaws in the series. like the co star Joe (Rob Corddry) who more reminds you of a kind Charlie Runkle (Evan Handler Californication) the show tries so hard to make him a equal to the rock, but ends up pitching bad lines and bad acting. If you are a fan of Californication your definitely a fan of ballers.Over all 8/10 stars a really good show, and a unique series at the moment.

When i start watching it i watched the first two eps with my brother and when i asked him about what he thought about them he said "its nice kinda like Any Given Sunday of some sort" So yeah maybe its like that, maybe it has Entourage all over it (Maybe a little of Playmakers?) but no wonder about the "Entourage" thing after all Mark Wahlberg is on the execute producer(s) titles but i really enjoy it and for those who don't seems to like it at the beginning trust me wait till ep 04 that ep rocks!!!! (And from that ep if the first three weren't enough good for you up to THAT ep the last ones will be trust me don't give up watch it all buddy) The main theme "Right Abover It" is awesome each time i watch the tittles the images reminds me kinda like Any Given Sunday and yes, if i analyze the "football theme" angle this show is way better than Friday Night Lights and YES (eith big letters) the Rock rocks he can act!!! Awesome show solid 8 watch it!!!

Ballers started off great with some interesting conflicts that you couldn't wait to see how they turned out. In the end, all the conflicts were solved to easily and made it feel like a real let down. For example, when the Vernon Littlefield blackmail situation came up in the show, what would have made it interesting was if Vernon's best friend was behind it. In the end it was Spencer Strasmore's ex and all he had to do was talk to her to resolve it...... really. The created lots of interesting story-lines only to just disappoint in the end. The Rock was great though, Rob Corddry did a good job, he was funny. Troy Garity and Dulé Hill also did a good job and fit their roles well. This show has potential to be really great. The writers just need to amp up the drama with some surprises and don't let a situation hang around for three episodes if the resolution is going to be simple.
