If you are in the IMDb page of Austin & Ally you probably have some level of interest in the show, so I'll skip over its good points that you probably already know and move on to where it fell on its face. The fact of the matter is our generation will not have a lot of good Disney shows to look back at, it's not the modern perception's fault, but it's Disney unwillingness to experiment with new ideas and invest a good amount of budget in an era where TV Shows are made out to be stretched out movies rather than traditional old shows where storytelling was stale and limited by the amount of location and cinematographic intricacy that you can pull off.Austin & Ally was set to be a classic during its first two seasons, but once one of the "supposed-to-be-interesting" two characters got knocked out of his contract. In the third season, an EP came out with a song called "Take It From The Top" which eluded to a sequence of events leading to Austin Moon's comeback into the music scene, and that in a big way (since he mostly made Pop Rock music, but this differs completely from anything prior) the problem is, they went on with the lead-up to the Music Factory scenario which made absolutely no sense whatsoever and sounded like a shallow excuse/cover-up to exclude Ally's dad out the cast and ON TOP OF THAT, the central piece of the original pitch no longer had any impact on the narrative, nor on the narration in the least bit : Music. We were supposed to see Ally rise as a brilliant songwriter, and Austin as this great dancer/instrumentalist/vocalist but somehow, they managed to break it which old leads me to believe there was more in store for him until they got a budget cut... it's usually the most plausible for any show trying to lose its way out the airwaves. The problem is, and however unfair it may be, White Collar for example, made sure you got an incredible last season and a splendid ending to compensate for the show's absence, Austin and Ally on the other hand left no impression, and most viewers were probably left with a feeling of dissatisfaction, as if all their years of waiting and anticipation were turned to dust.Watch the "dream" sequence of the first episode of Season 3 to understand what I mean. It really looks like scrapped footage from the original concept which would've made it less worse than it already is.
... View MoreWARNING: SPOILERS This is the exact type of show that proves the human race is going downhill fast. How does this unoriginal, cliché, Disney Channel trash have a 6.0 rating? Austin is my least favorite character in television history. He thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and always tries to impress girls, who rightfully turn his ugly, stupid ass down most of the time. He doesn't play guitar, he just runs around while flapping his hand and his singing is like listening to nails on a chalkboard, plus the sound of boiling water in a teapot.Ally is an idiot with absolutely no self-esteem, treated like trash by the rest of her "friends", and she puts up with it because she wants to feel accepted (great lesson for kids, Disney).Dez is just a stereotypical moron that has to be in every Disney show.Trish gets a new job every episode but never actually does any work, yet continues to be hired by small businesses in the same area (she never seems to develop a track record, great job at realism Disney). All in all, this show only get 1 star because it won't go any lower. It really deserves a -500000/10. It's that bad. Don't subject your eyes and ears to this trash, and definitely don't let your kids see it, or they will become egotistical morons.
... View MoreMany of my friends quite enjoy this show, and they wanted me to write a review on it. However, I could not simply write a good 10/10, since I think there are some severely lacking things in it. First of all, there a number of wonderful things about it. Pros: Carrie and Dez. They are the only good characters in the show. They have heart, comedy, and brains...wait no. But that's okay, because they're sweet and really benefit the show. the new premise in season 4. It's very interesting and tough to consider, since Austin isn't allowed to perform. It's finally where we can see what ally can honestly do. Cons, because that's why I'm here: Austin and ally's new relationship. At least, not their amount of gushiness. Every once in a while, sure. But every five seconds, no I don't think so. It's quite annoying and disgusting. Austin's treatment of Ally, at least in former episodes, was atrocious. She had to put her dreams on the sidelines so that Austin the pretty boy could pursue his, a selfish predicament. However, now he's given up his career do her, so this could be a pro. Characters: as in Austin, Ally, and Trish. Austin is not talented at dancing or singing, really, and is weak, since everyone else does everything for him. Ally used to be adorable and quirky, what with her stage fright, bad dancing, and love of studying. But now, apparently, she's lost all of that and become just another pop singer:(. Oh and Trish, always getting another job every five seconds is gone. She just chats with her boyfriend, is rude, but yet still gets to stick around because...I don't even know. plot holes: if Austin is so famous, shouldn't he have a lot of money, instead of complaining about being broke? Trish, too, as she's his manager?! Also, the only people who interview him are 10 year olds who shouldn't and realistically wouldn't be in show business anyway. How could these be angry about Austin lip synching if he does it all the time? (Oh come on it's obvious!) All in all, pretty much decent if you don't mind nonexistent confusing plots and intolerable character development.
... View MoreThis show is terrible, I dunno what y'all were thinking liking such a stupid show. Why does this have a 6/10?! This show is not funny at all, it's boring, it's stupid, and it sucks monkey balls. Most of the Disney Live Action shows suck so much, I'd never watch Disney again except if they have good shows on like Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Wander Over Yonder. The only Live Action show on Disney Channel that was not so bad, was Good Luck Charlie (I gave it 5/10, I'll write a review on it later). I can't even last a second watching one episode of this stupid show. It's so unspeakably awful, I can't force myself to watch a marathon of it.Can you believe 1,757 maniacs gave this sh*t a 10/10?! How can more people like this than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?! At least Teenage Mutant Turtles has an 8.3/10, but only 1,669 people gave it a 10/10. The rating for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is higher because it only has 149 1/10s and Austin & Ally, or should I say, Aush*t & Assy had 818 1/10s. If this rubbish trash had as much 1/10s as The Shawshank Redemption (I haven't watched it, but I've heard of it), I'd laugh my ass off.
