Your recent episode regarding conspiracy theories was shameful, deceiving & manipulative. There have been thousands of children who have come forward to say that they had been sexually molested by sick predators but instead you laugh it off & imply it was all made up. Disgusting.Next you resort to name calling & labeling everyone who thinks any "conspiracy theory" is true. You called it "dangerous" to do your own research & come to your own conclusions. That's actually called critical thinking. What's dangerous is you spreading lie after lie while joking about the real issues. There is clearly an agenda behind your show.
... View More"Adam Ruins Everything" is a comedy show that seeks to be educational. Like "Mythbusters", it dispels commonly believed falsehoods, but it doesn't conduct experiments, it cites scientific studies. Dr. Oz does much of the same thing, but his show focuses only on issues of health and medicine. "Adam Rules" provides guidance on broader cultural issues that could include almost any subject. If you remember the show "Intelligence For Your Life" (which starred John Tesh and Connie Sellecca), this show is similar, but it features skits that are very funny, as well as excellent graphics and special effects. The problem is that studies often contradict each other. But "Adam Ruins" tries to explain why one study's results are probably more reliable (like the fact that one study was based solely upon a sample group consisting of 17th century milkmaids in France). This show is highly recommended for viewers who like to be informed but don't appreciate the sermonizing of most advice shows. Or you can watch it only for the humor, but be warned--you will still learn a lot in the process. A deduction of one point for the common and simplistic mistake of calling the motivations of all companies, no matter their intentions or methods, "capitalistic".And one more deduction because its presentation excludes debate. Because it provides evidence and reasoning in presenting its positions, it is not asking the viewer to accept its teachings as rote learning. But the lack of opposing viewpoints means that it fails to teach to value of comparing competing ideas. For example, in the episode that minimized the value of grammatical rules, it would have been beneficial to hear the opinion of someone who believes there are costs in such a position. The ability to evaluate differing views is important in learning.
... View MoreI enjoyed the first few episodes of this show but there was something about it I couldn't quite put my finger on. After watching a few more episodes, it became clear that this show is biased to the left. Some episodes are more blatant than others such as the voting or the prison ones. Not to say the show isn't informational; It is, but I just wish they would present points on both sides to the topics they discuss. Rather, things are glossed over when they can easily become counter-arguments. The presenter, Adam Conover, is entertaining and does a great job keeping the show on a steady pace. And, if you look at the top corner of the screen whenever he talks, there's usually a credible source listed. Give it a watch, you might like it.
... View MoreAdam Ruins Everything teaches us about the things we thought we knew but turned around and given a whole new perspective to think about. The scenes are always moving and great, adding lots and lots of attention to detail and adding in great moments of comedy to describe the problem at hand. Every actor portrayal is great in terms of writing and actually acting. They fit in well with the and help explain much more.Along with that, there is even a little story involved as it goes on, with Adam meeting new people and them recurring in future episodes only for Adam to ruin another thing, and more often than not, I look forward to it. The episodes sometimes even take a rather dark turn, such as talking about death in his season finale.Overall, if you want to learn but have a rather comedic experience as well, turn to this show whenever it comes on, I promise you will not be disappointed.
