Now don't get me wrong, John Belushi wasn't funny either but at least he earned his fame. But we live in a world where people will accept a sibling of a celebrity and invite them into their homes for no reason other than who they are related to.This terrible show used every bad sitcom cliché they could find.Of course they use the "Idiot and Wife"(he's kinda fat and she's kinda hot) cliché that CBS perfected in the 90s.They also rehashed the old trick of never being funny, something I will never understand.Every story is about the husband being an idiot and the wife being insufferable.Since that wasn't unoriginal enough they decided to have the wife's sister always be there.Never saw that before. The most interesting thing about the show is that they have some gay guy hanging around all the time and he always pretends to like women.Like some weird 70s sitcom where we have to act like gay people don't exist. The only original thing about this mess is that they chose to have extremely creepy children.A tactic that was quickly imitated on that horrible show with the janitor from Scrubs(another horrible show).Unless you like to be bored and angry, never watch this show.

I saw 2 episodes of this show (God knows why) and I was absolutely disgusted. If this show gets a 6+ on IMDb it pains me to even think about how bad television must have been in this era, the program is absolutely awful none of the jokes even made me smirk, the laugh track goes every 4 seconds and lasts about 3 seconds, and it is the same track every time. In one of the episodes I watched, the fat lump of filth Jim woke up and yawned, and there was a laugh track, this show is incomparable to shows that we have today, I'm just thankful I wasn't born in the early 90's to have to suffer through this trash. I hate that main actor's face, In summary: the acting is appalling, the comedy is appalling, the main character Jim is appalling and disgusting and the laugh track makes me want to puke my balls out through my mouth, DO NOT WATCH THIS AWFUL SHOW!!

Average is what I can call this sitcom with clear conscience. James Belushi is a walking hit. Here he's a man's man, kind of live Homer Simpson, having the magical ability to seduce you with anything bad while sneering superbly at it in the same time too! Courtney Thorne-Smith is my dream of a wife, being the good mom of the 2000s, and a smart comedienne as well. While Kimberly Williams is so funny (loved, for little instance, her way of dancing over Jim's supposed grave), Larry Joe Campbell is the one who dazzles me with his laughable body language, look at his lightness during some of the acrobatic jests he perfect ; just astounding. However, the show's sense of comedy relayed much on the dirty humor (farts, peeing, masturbation, etc..). Sometime it promoted for ideas I didn't like. Let alone that there were what I consider as shocking moments; I can't forget till now the scene in which "real huge spiders" were used to be moving on Andy's back, that freaked me out, and still does. I don't know how in no case they put this horrific shot, but it's obvious how the whole show is for adults, and in kind of cheap way sometimes. At the first seasons the matters were OK though. But it turned into straight bad within the last days of it (or what I wish they would be !). By the seventh season the time became so un-funnily insipid. I couldn't believe the condition of the scripts. Aside from being a step down for the position of the show (which's average in the first place), it's useless material to watch, so how about entertain ?! I can't imagine anyone gives a green light for episodes like the one where Jim was hit by a bull ?? It looks like a lust for cancellation to me ! So, after enjoying half of the time, sometime more than the half, it forced me to save any time I have to watching something better. Finally, 2001 wasn't a lucky year when it came to sitcoms, (Grounded for Life), (The Bernie Mac Show), and (According to Jim) aren't any close to "favorite" for me. Thank god that 2001 got (Scrubs). So, nothing is wholly bad, though (According..) lately became about to !

I always wrote this series off as being a complete stink-fest because Jim Belushi was involved in it, and heavily. But then one day a tragic happenstance occurred. After a White Sox game ended I realized that the remote was all the way on the other side of the room somehow. Now I could have just gotten up and walked across the room to get the remote, or even to the TV to turn the channel. But then why not just get up and walk across the country to watch TV in another state? "Nuts to that", I said. So I decided to just hang tight on the couch and take whatever Fate had in store for me. What Fate had in store was an episode of this show, an episode about which I remember very little except that I had once again made a very broad, general sweeping blanket judgment based on zero objective or experiential evidence with nothing whatsoever to back my opinions up with, and once again I was completely right! This show is a total crud-pie! Belushi has all the comedic delivery of a hairy lighthouse foghorn. The women are physically attractive but too Stepford-is to elicit any real feeling from the viewer. There is absolutely no reason to stop yourself from running down to the local TV station with a can of gasoline and a flamethrower and sending every copy of this mutt howling back to hell. Except.. Except for the wonderful comic sty lings of Larry Joe Campbell, America's Greatest Comic Character Actor. This guy plays Belushi's brother-in-law, Andy, and he is gold. How good is he really? Well, aside from being funny, his job is to make Belushi look good. That's like trying to make butt warts look good. But Campbell pulls it off with style. Someone should invent a Nobel Prize in Comic Buffoonery so he can win it every year. Without Larry Joe this show would consist of a slightly vacant looking Courtney Thorne-Smith smacking Belushi over the head with a frying pan while he alternately beats his chest and plays with the straw on the floor of his cage. 5 stars for Larry Joe Campbell designated Comedic Bacon because he improves the flavor of everything he's in!
