Match 1: Orlando Jordan (c) vs Chris Benoit for the United States Championship - This was unexpected. It was nice to see Benoit regain the title, but it made it seem as though all those months that Orlando had the title were just a simple fluke. Benoit makes Orlando tap in 25 seconds. New record, new Champion.Match 2: Edge vs Matt Hardy - Excellent stuff. You could see that these two truly hated each other. Matt Hardy was back and out for blood against Edge, who stole his girlfriend Lita. Even though Hardy had a tremendous comeback he still took the backseat to Edge, when the referee stopped the match and named Edge as the winner.Match 3: Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio in a Ladder match for Custody of Dominick - The storyline was a little nuts even for WWE standards, but the Ladder match was an all around battle to the finish. The whole reality base between both families kept it a little more interesting, but the match was a fantastic encounter from these two old friends once again. In the end Rey does keep the custody of his son and lays the whole ordeal with him and Eddie to rest.Match 4: Kurt Angle vs Eugene - The whole Eugene gimmick really died down several months after he arrived in WWE. Nick Dinsmore on his own is a great wrestler, but when they portray him as Eugene it kills his career opportunities. This is basically a Kurt Angle squash match. After losing his Gold Medals to Eugene, Angle is back for the Medals and out to hurt Eugene. Angle takes the win and dominates doing it.Match 5: Randy Orton vs Undertaker - Entertaining battle once again from both of these former World Champions. The score going into this match was 1-0, with Undertaker scoring the win in the first encounter at Wrestlemania earlier that year. That all was changed with a little help from Randy's father Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. With some assistance from his dad Randy Orton was able to beat the Undertaker at Summerslam.Match 6: John Cena (c) vs Chris Jericho for the WWE Champinship - The crowd was a little dead for this one. The match was alright from both of these two. Cena pretty much walked in that day knowing he would retain once more. Jericho put up a valiant effort against John Cena because the title was at stake. The whole rivalry between these two never really builded two a huge climax. The whole thing ends with Cena nailing an FU on Jericho to retain his title.Match 7: Batista (c) vs JBL in a No Holds Barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship - A pretty decent SmackDown main event for the title. JBL does a lot better as a hardcore wrestler than as a regular wrestler. Batista dominates the whole match with his overpowering champion persona. In the end he Batista Bombs JBL onto the steel steps to retain. A short match with a pretty good ending.Match 8: Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan - The most anticipated match of the evening. An incredible encounter from the Legend and the Icon. The first ever meeting between these two was one of the greatest matches of the night. Michaels beat the hell out of Hogan the entire match, he even started bleeding. Hogan then did his signature Hulking up motion and nailed the big boot and leg drop. This lead en route to Hulk Hogan sealing the deal and defeating Shawn Michaels in the main event of Summerslam. Fantastic main event.

SPOILERSJust another average pay per view. when the wold champs are not in the main event you know that the things go wrong.next up the recap of the matches:Chris Benoit vs Orlando Jordan(c) -US Title match Benoit wins in 30 seconds with the Crippler Cross Face, yep the second WWE most important ppv have a 30 seconds squash match, anyway a Huge pop for Benoit rating 2/5, crowd reaction:5/5 Edge vs Matt Hardy -Single Match Disappointing match. This match had a lot of expectation due the return of Matt Hardy, the match begun and they just throw punchs and later edge wins via TKO. I Felt very disappointed rating 1/5Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Misterio -Ladder Match Very good match, finally a very good match. This is undoubtedly the match of the night but the storyline is so pathetic and the ending is so bad. Rey wins with the help of Eddie's wife. rating 4.5/5Kurt Angle vs Eugene -Single Match Wow two squash in one night, Angle wins with the Angle Lock and a very impressive pop for Angle rating 2/5, crowd reaction 5/5. Randy Orton vs Undertaker -Single Match Another good match between Orton and Mr.Callaway ,Orton wins with a RKO after some distraction. After the match, the guy who distracted Taker revealed himself as Bob Orton Jr. Does anyone Care???? rating 3.5/5John Cena(c) vs Chris Jericho -wwe Championship Like every Cena's match the opponent take the offensive side the 80% of the time and Cena wins with the FU, anyway the crowd was very involved in the match rating 3.5/5JBL vs Batista(c) -WHC Championship Another very short match, like the Edge-Matt Match they brawl the 100% of the time, but the ending is impressive ,Batista Connects the mighty Batista Bomb and connects another one in the ring steps, sweet!! 3.5/5Hogan vs HBK -Single match Unsurprisely HBK carries the 90% of the match in the end HBK connects the Diving Elbow and the sweet Chin Music and go for the pin butt he Hulkster kicks out and begin to hulk up and like always he is unbeatable and wins with the "devastating" leg drop, after the match another huge pop rating 4/5 crowd reaction 6/5

Icon vs Legend. Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan. One of the matches that I, along with so many other long time wrestling fans, thought we would never see. And considering it was a Hogan match, it didn't disappoint. Michaels proved tonight why he will go down as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time as he carried Hulk Hogan to his best match in many, many years. Sure, then ending was rubbish (HKB should have kicked Hogan's dentures clean out his mouth) but the sheer history making feel about the contest made up for it.The rest of the card was good as well. The ladder match between Mysterio and Guerrero was excellent. I hope this ends their feud now as it will have gone out on a high note. Jericho battling Cena for the WWE Championship was enjoyable also. Looks now that this will be Jericho's final WWE pay-per-view for a while so it was good he ended on a Championship match. Orton and The Undertaker had an good match but it couldn't hold a candle to their barn burner at WrestleMania 21. JBL and Batista also had a fairly good No Holds Barred match. This is another feud I hope ended at SummerSlam 2005. These two have zero chemistry together and it shows in the ring. The only flaws where the United States Championship match which made Orlando Jordan out to be the useless jobber that we WWE fans feel he is anyway and why the hell did one of the hottest matches of the night get stopped in about five minutes. Very, very bad booking in my eyes. Matt Hardy and Edge should have been allowed to tear each other apart all over Washington.SummerSlam has always been one of the hottest (no pun intended) events of the year and 2005 was no different. It was hyped as a mayor event and it felt like a major event. Just a pity WWE couldn't put on a show like this every month for it's fans.

first off let me say that this was a fantastic pay per view.1st match- Beniot vs Orlando Jordan- U.S championship this was a great 30 second match. Orlando got 1 slap on Beniot before Beniot did 2 suplexes, then locking on the crippler. Must've been a summerslam record for fastest time. 7/102nd match- Edge vs Matt Hardy this was a solid match with a terrible ending. These guys weren't even wrestling they were just throwing punches all match. Match ended when Matt Hardy was bleeding continuously and the ref thought he could not continue anymore so Edge was declared the winner.Fans were disappointed. 7.5/103rd matcher- Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero What a match, these guys put every fan out of there seats. plenty of high risks moves. Lots of Holy S*** chants going. Match end when Eddie is about to climb the ladder and win when his wife comes and pushes ladder over allowing Rey to climb and win the match. 8.5/104th match- Kurt Angle vs Eugene Fans were behind Angle all the way on this match. Angle mostly dominated this match with Eugene doing like 3 moves on angle. match ends when angle makes Eugene tap out to the ankle lock. short match but pretty good. 7/105th match- Randy Orton vs Undertaker Some parts got a little boring, but it then picked up the pace. match ends when a guy from fans comes in the ring, distracts undertaker, undertaker throws him out but that allows randy Orton to hit the RKO for the 1-2-3. after the match it turns out the fan was Randy's dad Bob Orton. 7/106th match-John Cena vs Chris Jericho what was funny is this match was that half the fans were chanting lets go Jericho while the other fans were chanting lets go cena. i was surprised to see Jericho got some pops. overall a good match. match ends when Cena pulls a F-U out of nowhere. 8/107th match- JBL vs Batista Coming into this match i had no expectations. Jbl is the worst wrestler that WWE ever made champion. I was quite surprised tho at this match. much better then i thought it would be. match ends when Batista did a Batista bomb once but the fans chanted one more so Batista did a Batista bomb a second time on the steel steps. 8.3/108th match- Hulk Hogan vs HBK Shawn Micheals This was the most anticipated match of the night. Hogan came out to a huge ovation. this was a great match but some parts the fans were dead but became back alive again. Fans were chanting you screwed Bret and we want Bret. Micheals hit the sharpshooter but hogan got the ropes, then Michaels hit hogan with a chair, then a flying elbow. that set him up for the sweet chin music. Micheals nailed it right in hogans face. Michaels pins 1-2 NOO hogan kicks out and hulks up. hogan blocks Michaels punches lands 3 of his own and then the big boot and then he hits the leg drop for the 1-2-3. hogan WINS!. after the match Michaels comes back into the ring and shakes hogan's hand saying that he needed to know if he can do it. hogan then poses for the fans and celebrates his win. 9/10Overall Summerslam 2005 was a great pay per view. worth purchasing.9/10
