As another reviewer states here, there are many missed opportunities with this movie. Unfortunately neither the entertainment value nor the 3-D Effects are of any value. There is some educational stuff going on there (only point where I disagree a bit, with the other reviewer, although, I thought his commentary was very informative nevertheless), but not enough to make this an essential view. While the map is a neat idea and the strongest 3-D Effect (Camera on Jeep) is kinda neat, the animals themselves never really look good. The information value isn't that great, a book will do and deliver much more. While I haven't watched many 3-D documentaries (3 up to this point), Deep Sea remains the best of them!
... View MoreThis is from the person on Safari's viewpoint. It really does make you feel as though you are walking through the bush. The camera positions are clever. It is mostly in the Landy and occasionally it is above and to the side, but not too much to detract from the story.I saw it in 3D. It was like you were in the Landy, it was a good advert for the Land Rover Defender. The satellite footage and the zoom ups to different parts of the country were breathtaking. It was clever and added to the story. It follows the five animals and how the people on Safari have travelled to find them. You are made aware of the geography and the areas where the animals are in danger of extinction. It was put together very well and you came away being in touch with South Africa's game reserves. The commentary is very clear and reveals very interesting facts.I was disappointed when it ended as it is only 45 minutes long. This has to be the best advert to visit any country that I have seen.
... View MoreThis movie is an excellent 3D adventure for all ages. Wild Safari does exactly what the title says; it brings a safari straight into the theater room. Furthermore all shots are authentic meaning that lions, elephants etc were approached in a wild environment to capt the perfect shots. This entails 3 cameras being positioned in the exact perfect positions to be able to create the 3D effect. And contrary to what is mentioned in the above review; it would be quite tricky to create a 3D movie with zoom shots as 3 cameras need to be perfectly aligned and this would be quite hard to do from a distance in the South African bush where there are obstacles all over the place. When I saw the movie the theater was filled with people from all ages and they all found the movie good enough to meet it with an applause at the end. A definite recommendation.
