I absolutely love this movie!! I have seen it dozens of times and it never gets old. Such an unexpected gem of a movie. Suspense and romance tied up into one intelligently done flick! Great acting and the music is perfect. I love the Scientist by Coldplay,so that sealed the deal for me!! I really wish there were more movies done like this. It is one that really keeps your mind open and alert because you have to somewhat pay attention. It has some unexpected twists and is not too predictable. I often recommend this movie to friends especially friends who like chick flick and thriller type movies. This is a good one!One of my top favorites.

Back in 2006 I worked in a video shop, and then I saw the poster for this movie. Don't know why, but something catched my eye (maybe the fact that Diana Krueger appeared in the movie). Since then, I wanted to watch it, and every time that almost succeeded in doing so ended in failure. That was until recently, and I must say, I'm glad I waited all these years to watch it.The movie has everything: a perfect cast (Diane Kruger, a goddess as always; Josh Harnett, pulling it up pretty well, this guy deserves much more attention!), very good and emotional music, fitting the scenes almost as if every song was made for the movie; the story, just awesome. Who hasn't been tangled in the webs of love, desiring, being unloved and all of that? The theme and how its handled keep me rooting for everyone during the film. I been in their place during the years: obsessing, loving, suffering, and all of that. The pace of the movie and its timing its perfect, although you will need patience before finding the answers to the movie questions. In the end, all will be solved and clarified in one way or another. As for the downsides, maybe the theme of coincidences and how we see them in the movie is a Little bit phony. Nevertless, they are easily forgiven for the sake of entertaining. Many here complaint about certain lack of realism about some aspects (the cellphones most obviously) but let's back out a Little bit: Its a movie! It doesn't have to follow the rules of strict realism.Would I recommend this movie? Absolutely. It has romance, thrilling and emotional moments, eye Candy (for guys and girls no less). But above all, a powerful message that, if you blink you will miss it: love is something very valuable. While a Little few can enjoy it, most of all the people will chase smoke most of the time.Everyone, please enjoy it. Also an apology for my atrocious English (it's not my mother tongue)

when i first heard about the movie name i thought it may be a story of weak guys creating a park or assembling together in a park!! ha ha. but when i saw this, i realize it is really a wicked, blasting, emotional movie with a brilliant story. it is a story of love at first sight of two different perspective. the storyline, story telling, scenery were awesome. Josh Hartnett really blasts in his character. this is one of the best performance for Rose Byrne. she really did her attachment with betrayal emotions. Diane Kruger looked so pretty. this made the plot interesting in respect of love at first sight. it is worth to watch. i really enjoyed it.

I watched the original French movie on a long haul flight in 1997 when I was 11 (captain's pick). I was so confused yet so intrigued when you know what became popular in the early 2000's I looked and found it again on my campus sharing network. The original made me a fan of French movies, of Monica Bellucci. I was also old enough to understand Max's choice in the end. And i was extremely intrigued with a movie that DARED to tear lovers apart. (I guess It's still a forbidden concept in America). Reading the comments here, I think the vast majority do not realize Wicker Park was a remake. It's not 'unique', it's not a 'never before seen concept', its just a remake of all those things. But I dare say it failed. For one the ending was completely changed. Which makes the movie predictable just like the rest. It took away the element of reality, that men actually have the ability to make judgement and not be led by love and obsession. I guess I prefer movies that tell the truth, like woody allen's Match Point, where people do get away with murder. In this sense, this movie took a great classic, made it Hollywood to appease the audience's appetite, but at the meantime destroyed the delicate relationships that intrigued in the original. More and more great modern Europeans movies are being remade in the US, please people, do your homework and at least give the original concept a try before the remake, you will be surprised.
