1st Match: DDP vs Chavo Guerrero. A great match to start, DDP's really starting to hone his skills, and Chavo does really well for his first PPV match. A good way to get the crowd involved with the show. Rating: 4/52nd Match: Scott Norton vs Ice Train, Submission match. Not the go to guys when I think of a submission match, but the match is OK. They were really trying to squeeze a feud out of these 2, but neither guy was really interesting. At least the match is short, which keeps it watchable. Rating: 3/53rd Match: Konnan vs Juventud Guerrera, AAA Heavyweight Championship. Another stellar match here, I'm really loving this deal WCW has with New Japan and AAA. Both guys get good offense, and thanks to Mike Tenay, the match is called really well. There are a few botches because of Konnan's size, but I like him more as a heel, it allows him to be more aggressive, instead of trying to be a high flyer. Also, because of the NWO, the Dungeon of Doom is all but extinct, thank goodness. Rating: 4/54th Match: Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho. Wow, Jericho's first PPV match. For a guy so young, he's really good here, of course putting him in a match with Benoit is just magic. Both guys do great work here, both technical and brawling. These two would go on the have better matches, but this is a great start for both of them. Rating: 4.5/55th Match: Rey Mysterio vs Super Caló, WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Another great match, WCW has been on top of their game this show. Mysterio does a great job as usual, but Caló also gets some offense, and dominates for a good chunk of the match. Please keep up with matches like this WCW, it's your strong suit. Rating: 4.5/56th Match: Harlem Heat vs The Nasty Boys, WCW World Tag Team Championships. Not as good as the other matches so far, but it entertains. The biggest problem with Harlem Heat is that they've won by cheating the past 3 shows or so. I know they're heels, but even heels have to win clean some times, it keeps them from becoming stale. Rating: 3/57th Match: Randy Savage vs Big Show. Pretty short, but I guess it served more to set up Hogan/Savage at Halloween Havoc. Savage chases Hogan to the back and then gets ambushed by Hall and Nash, they then throw him back in the ring and give Big Show the win. Alright from a storyline perspective, but just an OK match overall. Another one of those short and semi-sweet matches. Rating: 3/58th Match: Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Ric Flair, and Sting vs the NWO and Fake Sting, WarGames. So the big story going into this is that Sting had apparently turned on WCW, joining he NWO 6 days before the PPV. However, it was all a ploy by the NWO to get the fans to distrust Sting. The match is actually pretty good, it's the best WarGames match of the three I've seen. At the end of the match, the real Sting comes out and everyone thinks he's gonna save the day, but he leaves after cleaning house because WCW doubted his loyalty. This makes the match 4-on-3, and the NWO gets the win. It would be over a year before Sting would wrestle on PPV again, and the NWO have WCW on the run. After the match, Savage gets destroyed, as the ring once again fills with trash. Rating: 4/5Final Rating: 8 out of 10. About time WCW put out a great show. Every match on here is at least watchable, and the lucha matches keep the crowd red hot the whole night.

Live from Winston-Salem, NCAttendance: 11,300Your commentators are Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes & Bobby HeenanDiamond Dallas Paige Vs Chavo Guererro Jr.DDP wins with the Diamond Cutter. This is actually a good match! As much as I dislike Chavo, the man was a great wrestler. The last 5 minutes are especially exciting with DDP doing a really neat spinning sit-out powerbomb. ***Gene Okerlund gives us a report of the history of the NWO.Submission MatchScott Norton Vs Ice Train (W/Teddy Long)Ice Train makes Norton submit with a Full Nelson. This was pretty damn bad! Nobody in the crowd cared about the match, and I don't think many people in general did either. WCW had some pointless feuds.3/4*Mexican Heavyweight ChampionshipKonnan (C) (W/Jimmy Hart) Vs Juventud GuerreraKonnan retains. This is a solid match, but I do have some issues with it. It does come across as a spotfest at times. It also seemed off at times, and the crowd sensed it as well. Juvi hit every high- flying move but the kitchen sink in this one. I just think they tried a little too hard.***1/4Chris Jericho Vs Chris BeniotI'm super excited about this one. Beniot wins with a back suplex from the top. I'm happy to say that this match met my expectations. These two went out there and stole the show! These two are just in tune with each other. They've wrestled each other many times. It's just a damn shame the crowd was so dead for it. Last but not least, it put over Jericho as a star that could hang with the best of them. ****1/4Cruiserweight ChampionshipRey Mysterio Jr. Vs Super CaloMysterio wins with the West Coast Pop. Calo and Mysterio meshed perfectly in this match. They had the perfect contrast in styles. You'll get plenty of areal manuevers, great wrestling, and lots of excitement. Once again, the crowd disappointed me.***1/2Tag Team ChampionshipHarlem Heat (C) (W/Sister Sherri & Col. Parker) Vs The Nasty BoysHarlem Heat wins after Sherri interferes. These two kinda wore out their feud welcome in 2005. Technically the match is fine, it's just rather mundane and overbooked. Somehow, The Nasty Boys stay over with the fans. It's a mystery to me.*1/2"Macho Man" Randy Savage Vs The GiantSavage has the match potentially won after hitting the flying elbow until the nWo comes out and assaults Randy Savage. Referee, Nick Patrick does nothing about it. The Giant simply covers Savage for the win. It's nice to see Savage was protected somewhat in defeat. As great as Savage is, he can't work miracles. This match was pretty mediocre. The coolest moment had to be Savage slamming The Giant. The crowd popped huge for it.*1/2Sting shows up during The Four Horsemen's interview. He says it wasn't him that attacked Luger. Luger says he doesn't believe him. War GamesHulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Fake Sting, and Kevin Nash (W/Ted Dibiase) Vs Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, and Sting. It turns out, it was a fake Sting. The real Sting comes out at the end of the match to kick all kinds of ass. The real Sting ends up walking out on the team when his feelings were hurt that nobody trusted him. Luger ends up passing out to the Scorpion Deathlock from the fake Sting to give nWo the win. Savage ends up getting Hogan all alone in the ring, but it turns out to be a setup. Savage gets decimated by the nWo. Miss Elizabeth runs in and pleads with Hogan to stop. Miss Elizabeth covers Macho Man, so Hogan humiliates her by spray painting nWo on her back. Savage ends up being helped to the back by Elizabeth and a referee. Thoughts: Sorry for the detailed recap. I kinda felt it was necessary. This match had so much emotion riding on it. It's amazing that over 20 years later, this angle still tugs at my heart-strings. I still hate the nWo. The nWo certainly had its fans, but I was a WCW guy. The nWo angle really revitalized wrestling before it became stale. My favorite part out of all of this is Miss Elizabeth reuniting with Randy Savage. I can't help it, I adore them together. Elizabeth should have never turned heel in the first place. Elizabeth is a natural face. ***1/28/10 overall

1. Diamond Dallas Page Vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. - Pretty exciting match! Crowd was extremely into it, spinning powerbomb, tilt-a-whirl slam etc. I have to give full count of 10/10 2. Ice Train Vs. Scott Norton - Better than Hog Wild Match. Ice won that. 6/10 3. Mexican Heavyweight Title Match: Champ-Konnan Vs. Juventud Guerrera - Juvi was far better. Konnan screwed so many moves here but he was still favorite in bookings. Cool match, anyway. 8.5/10 4. Chris Jericho Vs. CHris Benoit - This card is full of great exciting matches. That one was fantastic! Both guys rocks. 9/10 5. WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Super Calo Vs. Champ-Rey Mysterio, Jr. - I don't get why crowd was so cold. Yeah, there were a mistakes but there were a lot of fuc*ing great 9/10 6. WCW World tag Team Title Match: Nasty Boys Vs. Champs-Harlem Heat - Quite common Tag team match. 6/10 7. Macho Man Vs. Giant - Slow and powerful but quite boring for me. Giant defeated Savage 6/10 8. Wargames: Ric Flair/Lex Luger/Arn Anderson/Sting Vs. Kevin Nash/Scot Hall/Hogan/Bogus Sting - Once again quite boring until Flair approached. Storyline is legendary, Wargames 1996 match wasn't so perfect. 6.5/10
