Until this one develops into an Italian take on "A Day Without Mexicans", it looks like it will be a class act. It opens nicely with the boy driver of the one bull cattle truck and Abatantuono's TV tirades but lapses into over-stretched magic realism, before its final sand hills joke.TV demagogue Abatantuono, teacher Lodovini and cop Mastandrea prove to be interconnected, as life in Italy is disrupted when all the immigrants vanish. Individual scenes play nicely. The rabbit sub-plot is one of their best inventions.Good cast and some nice Eastmancolor imagery.
