The Wylds Trailers

(Long Synopsis) "This action-packed, fantasy-fueled family adventure – inspired by the revered literary Christian classic, The Pilgrim’s Progress – overflows with outrageous characters, special effects … and a moral message. In The Wylds, young Chris (Solomon Ray) is a runaway living with a group of other misfit kids in a junkyard, all under the watchful eye of a Dickens-esque character who forces them to steal to survive. When Chris is caught pilfering at a church, the pastor protects him from the police, then challenges him to find his estranged father. Chris bravely chooses to leave his family of thieves and ventures into the wilderness in search of a better life. Traveling through a post-apocalyptic future – his only hope lies in reaching a heavenly paradise that will surpass his wildest dreams – he outwits bandits, escapes swamp monsters, battles evil robots and learns valuable life lessons about choosing the right path."

I was perplexed at the nasty campaign of reviews on this site until I realized that they were exactly that, a campaign and all from a very limited/related geographical region. A rather poor campaign (of ignorance) at that, especially as the film's cover explains both that this is a retelling of a FAMOUS (332 years of acclaim) Christian allegory and explicitly quotes Christian Scripture. Having loved John Bunyan's allegorical, though very difficult to read story of Christian's journey from Destruction to the Cross and then on to the Celestial City for most of my life, I enjoyed every minute of this film even (perhaps especially because of) the goofy bits and the Original Doctor Who like special FX. When Christian and Faith are reunited at the end (hardly a spoiler), I actually cried.Despite macro-time and low budget, they still managed to include most major highlights, Destruction, Evangelist, Slough of Despond, Worldly Wiseman, Wicket Gate, Cross & Burden, Giant of Despair, Vainglory, Vanity Fair, Apollyon and Beelzebub and arrows, The River and the Celestial City. They even have Worldly Wiseman introduce himself with a delightfully awful filk of Modern Major General from The Pirates of Penzance, and a parody of The Matrix using hamster wheels!

Take a shot every time they make an overly religious metaphor, or quote the Bible. Drunk is the only way to watch this movie. *(note: please don't play this drinking game, you will get alcohol poisoning) Its utterly awful. The reviews are the best part about it! Stale acting Horrid scrip Horrendous soundtrack And I cannot begin to describe how plainly awful the special effects are. The only thing scenes I could stand to watch, were those with Iggy because he was the most normal one in it AND HE IS IN LEAGUE WITH THE DEVIL. A waste of £3. As if the tescos horse meat scandal wasn't enough. If you want to watch something with better drama and acting watch episodes of doctor Who from the 70s, at least the special effects are better.

Got the movie at Walmart for 5 bucks. Even if they were giving it away it would have been a crime. It looks like the movie was made for about $100 bucks. I hope they didn't pay the cast much money. They couldn't act even if they took lessons. The only good reviews of the movie on here were probably from people involved with the film. Someone learned how to use a cheap camera and thought they could make a movie. The special effects made me almost cry. I could have done better myself. The only one that has a chance of a career might be the boy who played Chris. There is a slight chance if he takes a few more acting lessons. As for everyone else, keep your day job. There is more to come from this studio, so keep an eye out so you don't get let down again. Special effects, acting, and story all awful! Save your money and time!

Such a poor quality film. Purchased from Tescos today for £3.00 on the bargain DVD's. Was excited to take home as the cover claims 'boy lost in a magical land', action packed family adventure film filled with outrageous characters' and compares movie to 'The Chronicles of Narnia', so thought we were all in for a hidden treat. The majority of the cast are Unknown, but thought hey everyone needs to start somewhere and to be given a chance. Mere moments into the movie and you find that the DVD Box cover is the best part of the movie. Special effects totally laughable, well cry-able as its so awful you are left in total dismay, swamp monster, lava, robot, location!!!! by any stretch of the imagination is not 'breath taking'. Poor casting, dire editing and a very weak storyline. Feel terrible for giving such a poor review to a film - but the cover on the box is a total fabrication and has no comparison to 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and is so misleading (Note:Trading standards???). Advice to you all never judge a book sorry DVD by its cover, check IMDb first before wasting your money. 'The Adventures of Chris Fable - time to believe' a movie best avoided, and has been added to my WWFE list(World's Worst Films Ever).
