A documentary that chronicles Sarah Palin's pre-political life; her tenure as Governor of Alaska, and her time spent as John McCain's running mate.

I did watch this movie with an opened mind. It is a documentary about "part" of Sarah Palin's life. I enjoyed it. You cannot watch this movie expecting special effects or amazing story. It's a documentary about her life. PERIOD. I read some of the reviews and it seems that people were expecting something else. It's a documentary.Where I'm shocked is when I realized how much hate there is towards her. Most from the "Left". I knew that the "Left" never liked her. I guess you always fear threats to yourself. They called her stupid in every way possible. Can't be worse of what's in Washington now! Anyhow, strangely enough, most reviews you read about this documentary reflect the first minute of this film. Pure baseless hate, if only by fear.Yes, I learned from that movie. Learned to appreciate strength of character. Learned that the "Left" needs to develop skill of debating issues and not simply hate. Go ahead, start hating me... But you must appreciate this movie for what it is, a documentary about a very strong woman, a woman who never said one bad word about anybody and yet keeps being hit by mindless commentators.

I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the information on Gov. Palin. The commentary by friends and co-workers was very enlightening and helped to reinforce some of the impressions that I already had.But the Production was just AWFUL. The director or producer, for some reason, felt that they had to insert video scenes of really odd stuff to reinforce what was being said. Things like lions eating their prey, or a plant bud rising out of a the soil. Just a lot of stupid stuff. Its like the director felt that we could not understand the oral information that was being provided so they provided dramatically graphical images. It was so annoying that I think the show would be much better with the picture turned off and done in audio only.I am a big supporter and big fan of Gov. Palin and I could hardly watch it. If this movie was to support her I think it probably had the opposite effect.

This movie exemplifies amateurish film-making and "The Paranoid Style in American Politics." I had some interest in the nonsense voiced by Mark Levin, the late Andrew Breitbart, and other gabbers, so the film held my interest until its merciful if too long delayed end. Because former Governor Palin is almost a Rorschach inkblot into which factually challenged testifiers project their fantasies and nightmares, I did not wonder that "the witnesses" were unmoored to such an extent from the reality-based community. Still, the Palin supporters who can read would profit from perusing "The Lies of Sarah Palin" or similar studies of Plain's vacuous mendacity. "Game Change" was a far better film and far superior perspective on Senator John McCain's cynical recklessness in nominating Governor Palin. "Game Change" the book is even more frightening.I awarded three stars. I have seen worse films.

Fair disclosure: I'm an ex-chairman of a Tea Party.I thought this fairly well done, though I do have some minor quibbles. It presents Governor Palin's political history very well. It presents her beliefs in a very positive light. It works as intended, just as a Michael Moore movie will trash those with whom he disagrees. This is to be expected. Two minor quibbles on the many video inserts of people telling the story: (1) Some of the camera work was jerky, moving the subject left & right suddenly. Sadly distracting. (2) I'd have liked to have they folks labeled for longer periods. The names just zoom by and that's it. Luckily, you can back up on a DVD, but that breaks the story up.So it's not perfect, but it's nowhere near the horror some have called it. One suspects the worst reviews were from those who would not watch it even if offered money to do so. If you're a supporter or just a curious moderate, it's worth a look. Just try to watch the first few minutes, where the many attacks by the other side are shown, and then try to deny the media has treated her unfairly. Dare you!
