Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club is cute and fun to watch. This is the kind of film you can rent on a free weeknight or weekend and just sit back and enjoy yourself. The acting in this movie is very good and the characters are very The acting in this movie is very good and the characters are very well written, they fit the actors. Wendi Covey is absolutely hilarious and I just laughed my head off whenever she was saying a line or just on screen, she really brought a lot of the comedy and carried a lot of the comedic material in the film. Nia Long was actually very good and I loved her character! Amy Smart was all right, but I did feel like parts of her performance were a bit lazy. I think Amy tried, but I don't think she completely succeeded with her performance overall. I think Tyler Perry did a pretty good job of writing funny and interesting dialogue between the ladies, they all had good friendly chemistry with each other, you could really see the obvious strong bond between them all. I liked the individual story lines, and I thought that they intertwined well. There were some lines that were a little bit cheesy and a couple of performances that seems kind of hammy, but they were pretty far and few in between. I enjoyed seeing Terry Crews make an appearance here, he was funny and created an interesting dynamic. Cocoa Brown is just awesome here! I loved her energy and just her presence in the film. William Levy is a good addition to the list of cast members, he is hot, sweet, romantic and gives a good well rounded performance. Overall, it's a cute sweet but occasionally cheesy movie. 7/10.
... View MoreI think Single Mom's Club is a great idea for a movie. It's certainly not a blockbuster and it's definitely not a box office hit, but it's a cute movie that's probably relatable to many women; single mom or not. There is a lot of great acting and quirky characters in this movie. Each of the 5 women have their own unique situation they are going through, and although some characters are a bit more easy to tolerate than others, they all have something about them that can be appealing. From completely helpless, to stubbornly independent, there is a spectrum of different approaches here to the idea of raising kids by oneself. This movie is ultimately about friendship. It's about the strong bond that can be created when people of similar circumstances put aside their inherent differences and help each other. Yes, there area few plot holes here and there, and the ending is awkward and cheesy, but overall, it's a heartwarming story. A cute girls night kind of flick.
... View MoreWell...I never wrote a review but this movie seems like i have to... I'm a single mom and this movie was amazing true life story told by different angles.5 moms met at strange occasions and become friends... They helped each other and supported themselves in a very difficult situations. The characters are very well played and the story is interesting till the end. What i loved about this movie is that all the moms are living in different circumstances and the point is that they are all the same-single moms.I recommend this move to all the single moms out there having a trouble dealing with problems and don't know how to move on. Very inspiring movie.
... View MoreThis movie was awful. They all talk about the single moms club but they repeatedly complain about the men paying their alimony, child support and talk about getting new men and fixing each other up. A TRUE single mother is one that has no father - no alimony, no child support and the father is gone. As in passed away, in jail or otherwise absent. Not a man who wants to co-parent and contributes financially. These women needed a MAN to help them build their sets for the kids play. This is horrible. It is an insult to REAL single mothers (widows) who have no option to fight and fuss with an ex. How about they do a story about the war widows who are REAL single mothers. Pathetic movie. The only reason I rated a "1" is because there was no option for anything less.
