Based on the synopsis I would have watched it if I couldn't find anything else. However, a friend who also likes these types of motion pictures enjoyed it, so I watched. The acting was pretty decent. Some chewing up the set, but I went in knowing that was to be expected. I loved how the chronology was shot and that you don't really know the details of catalyst until the end. I couldn't predict it in its entirety until the final moments (and I'm pretty good at that). The gore, pain & mutilatuons were unrealistic but that didn't stop me from loving it! I'd for sure watch more from these folks!

"The Scarehouse" is yet another example as to what is wrong with the Canadian film industry. The biggest reason as to why the movie fails can be seen in its credits. The person who is given credit for the direction (Gavin Michael Booth) not only directed the movie, he is given credit for the script, editing, and as one of the movie's producers. The Canadian government loves to fund movie projects by "auteurs", even though there are very few people in the Canadian film industry (or film industries in other countries, for that matter) that can successfully take on more that one role on the production of a movie. Obviously, there was really no one on board this movie project that could interfere with Booth's vision, and as a result, this movie fails like so many vanity productions. The characters in the movie are all repulsive, the narrative is garbled, and the production values (such as with bargain basement cinematography and lighting) are absolutely rock bottom... among many other problems. While I'm glad that the Canadian government is starting to fund more commercial movies instead of just art house dramas, they still don't seem to understand that the bulk of the movies they are choosing to fund (regardless of genre) simply are doomed to failure because they are badly conceived vanity projects. Unless the Canadian government changes their policy, Canadians will continue to ignore their filmmakers' films.

This movie was worst. I was looking forward to this movie. Was disappointed . The movies lost the plot, was poorly written and directed. Cool judo Lisa was the best part of the movie. This movie was a poor representation of females. I really couldn't get behind this movie, the character were not realistic at all, I just wanted it to end . This is trying to be a gore fest chick killer flick, it's not. It was trying to be too much and ending up coming up short. There are much better movies out there, don't waste your time.No substance, no class .Would have thought better from Windsor .

This is a great little hidden gem that is well worth the watch. It brought me back to my pre-teen and young teenage years where every weekend I would consume as much horror as I could...whether it be one the Child's play, Nightmare on elm street or a less slasher and more psychological thriller I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately as most Horror fans know the genre as been do badly used and abused and put away beat up and wet. There are just so many direct to DVD, low budget and poorly acted sequels that in most cases have been written by either a semi above average intelligent 6 year old or a bunch of guys or girls who jokingly tossed around ideas during a drunken weekend in Vegas and some how convinced Dad to fund this "artistic" endeavor. Well when it comes to Scarehouse this is NOT the case!!!! The film centers around an extremely impressive cast of women. IT is very refreshing to see such a film that centers around a mainly women cast and women that bring very impressive resumes and bodies of work. The all did a fantastic job and did not disappoint. Sarah Booth embodied the vengeful nature of her character while Kimberly- Sue Murray did an equally superb job being more timid and questioning. That's not to say they were the only ones that shined because the entire cast was awesome and deserving of praise(Same with the crew behind the scenes that we so often forget or over look). It is really hard to go into to much detail without potentially spoiling the story. I assure you that the story is great and a throw back to the 80's horror films that I(and all of you if your reading this review) loved. It's concept and story line is like an ohmage to all the old horror films that we know and love from that era..... This movie is a true hidden gem, and was made by a cast and crew that clearly love cinema.
