The Pink Conspiracy Trailers

Dave is convinced that his knock-out girlfriend Jamie is cheating on him, despite his best friend Victoria's reassurance that it's all in his head. When his life begins to unravel, both at work as well as in his relationship, Dave's suspicions overwhelm him and he stumbles upon a discovery that turns his world upside down. After following Jamie to a "study group" one night, Dave is shocked to learn that his girlfriend is the leader of a conspiratorial group of ex girlfriends, whose sole purpose is to torment him and ruin his life. Following the discovery, Dave finds himself tumbling through a series of adventures as he attempts to unveil the truth, all while getting his life back on track. With the guidance of several questionable comrades, and the help of the conspirators' alluring new but reluctant recruit Katie, Dave ultimately pieces the puzzle together and finds out the hard way that sometimes true love is worth fighting for.

The Pink Conspiracy is a funny love story told in a different way. Finally not the same love story told over and over again with a different name which we see all the time. I could name a few just this year alone. Does the guy "get the girl"? We don't know but the "getting there" part made the movie interesting to me. It was done with humor and at the same time you felt bad for Dave. It made me root for him plus Bradley Snedeker is very easy on the eyes. He makes for a handsome, funny victim. Only negative thing I would say, I thought the scenes were kind of long, could have been shortened a bit. I was surprised to see 'characters' written into the story, thought it was a little odd but it somehow worked all together. I think anyone would be able to relate to this story, we may all have our own (if you know what I mean)-Story was entertaining and I would watch it again.

I initially picked this movie up because of Mercedes McNab. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there is also another Angel star in here too - Sarah Thompson. It was a lot of fun watching them together in something so different than what they did in Angel (and Buffy). That aside, I enjoyed the movie. At first glance it seems like it would definitely be more of a guys movie but there's a lot in here for the girls too. Most of the characters were pretty over the top but that made it all the more fun. My only frustration with The Pink Conspiracy is that you never find out if Dave (B. Snedeker) and Katie (S. Thompson) end up together at the end. They kind of leave it open ended, which I guess for some is all good. I personally wanted to know what happens to them. Overall, a fun movie with some friends and some drinks.

I saw another cool indie movie that Marc Clebanoff also made with a lot of the same cast members. I really enjoyed it so I decided to give Pink Conspiracy a look. The two movies are apples and oranges, the other being a noir-ish action movie. But Pink has a lot going for it, particularly the cast. Joss Whedon fans will appreciate Mercedes McNab and Sarah Thompson showing up together and doing something a bit more goofy than we're used to seeing. Then there's this whole ensemble of really great veteran character actors like James Russo, Tiny Lister & Chad Everett that obviously only worked for a day at a time but it really worked well. Pink is obviously a low budget movie but no single element stands out as weak. Actually for such an outlandish comedy I was surprised by how sweet it turned out to be. Generally its a very enjoyable movie although I could see where it might rub some folks the wrong way. If you enjoy a really off the wall comedy definitely check this out.

This movie will not appeal to everyone and therein lies its edge and humor making it special. The humor has a dark side, but does not make this film dark. On the surface this film seems to be uncomplicated. It does hold your interest with the twists. One almost has to see it more than once to appreciate the subtleties and nuances. The independent film industry is the best showcase for bright, up and coming film makers. Marc Clebanoff is definitely one of these. Marc shows his individuality in the script, his ability as a director, and his knack for putting together a great cast. He is creating a niche and a following that will only grow in coming years.
