... View MoreThat series is the best series ever! Characters in the office are so original and funny. While watching it, you can laugh and also cry. It has no boring and unnecessary scene. I love that story and the way those characters react to occurrences. I watched that series 2 times and i can say that i will watch that again.
... View MoreI really love this show. The acting is great. The comedy is great. And, the guy who plays Michael is actually the reason why I watched it. Thanks to all the people who told me about it.
... View MoreYou start with Michael Scott. You immediately realise he is crazy. He has a weird sense of humour, he has no filter between his mouth and his brain, he is childish and the people around him have to care for him. In a sense, there is very little you like about him. But as the time passes, you realise that he has some things right to his credit. He understands the value of family, he considers his subordinates as genuine friends and there is heart in his banter. You slowly see the good side of him and realise that he is not that bad. You start to like him, find him funny sometimes. He makes mistakes, blunders even, but his heart is in the right place and his intentions are pure. And then one day you read this quote,"Do you hate your job? Yes. Do you hate your boss? Great! You are going to love this show". And you realise that it's right. You will love The Office. Hats off Michael Scott. There are other things too. The soundtrack is simply brilliant. It is heartwarming and nostalgic. You can cut it short, shorter and shortest and it would still hold its charm. The pranks that Jim plays on Dwight are mad. The songs played here and there bring out the best of The Office like the one welcoming new employees and the one with the commercial. The scripting on 'that's what she said' jokes and Crisis level:Midnight movies were distinctive and charming. But that is not to say that The Office had no bad moments. Sure the characters were funny. Some like Dwight Schrute may leave a distinct memory in the mind and could be immortalised. But The Office really shines when there is a plot. You see the true funny when there is a story and there are stakes involved. But these moments are few and scattered in between. This was especially felt in the latter seasons when it simply felt like they have run out of bad situations to create and so are now winging it. Also, take the example of FRIENDS. All 6 of these characters, not to mention the supporting actors, had a distinct personality and the series showed character development. A truly great series shows the characters evolving over a period of time so that people can see them struggle and become better. The Office had little of that. Even if you leave out the depth of the characters, there is also the sheer number of different personalities that could have been explored instead of simply leaving them as stereotypes. Overall, I felt that even though this show was good, it barely touched its true potential.
