Review: This is another one of those over complicated movies that I really got fed up watching! It started of simple and I was quite impressed with the way it looked but once it started to go back and forth in time, I really lost interest. The action scenes were also a bit poor but I was impressed with Jackie Chans house boat. This is the bit of the story that I understood, Chan plays Jack whose an archaeologist who keeps on having dreams were he is a General saving a Korean Princess. He then gets approached by his best friend to help him locate the mausoleum of the Chinese first emperor and while he sets out on his Indiana Jones type adventure, his reoccurring dreams soon collide with his work. Sounds simple but it really isn't. There's other elements to the storyline which are really hard to explain because I lost the plot halfway through the movie. I was hoping that the martial arts would save the day but the weird horse kicking and the silly arm grabbing Kung Fu, was really bad. You could tell that they used a big budget for the film because the epic scenes during 221BC when Chan is playing General Meng Yi, had a lot of extras on horses with complex action scenes but it still wasn't enough to save the movie. The weird flying princess near the end didn't help matters but the acting wasn't bad from the cast. In all, it's another disappointing movie from Jackie Chan, mainly because of the confusing storyline and "over the top" action scenes but the cinematography was OK. Disappointing!Round-Up: This movie was directed by Stanley Tong who brought you Supercop 1 & 2, Rumble in the Bronx, First Strike and Mr. Magoo, which was a weird project to take on after directing mainly action movies. He also produced Chinese Zodiac and the Martial Law series with Samo Hung so he's had some experience in the action department. This 2hr epic adventure, would have been much better if he would have stuck to one topic but he kept on switching the direction of the plot, so I just gave up after a while. Budget: HK$15million Worldwide Gross: N/AI recommend this movie to people who are into their action/adventure/martial arts/comedies starring Jackie Chan, Bing Shao, Mallika Sherawat and Hee-seon Kim. 2/10

The Myth is one of the best Chinese Movies as well as it is also a remarkable movie in the world wide film industries. This movie brings Chines Mythology which is also one of the oldest in the world. Through this movie we easily can have a view point of Chines Mythology, their war art, martial art, painting art, social structure, social value every come in good shape in this movie. It is not only a Chinese movie rather we may say it a continental movie. A part of the plot based on Indian background. The hero Jackie Chan shows a great acting along with the heroine Kim Hee‑sun. Her beauty, her smile, her suffering, frustration, long patience everything is so transparent and vivid. Cinemaholic people mush see it. It is enjoyable and also potential in consideration of knowledge.

It's a high rating because it's Jackie Chan, and the show has its merits. However,I really, really wished that the "love element" in this movie could have been expanded on. You know, when I hear the soundtrack (especially the song which Jackie and Hee-seon sang in together) and after I watched the movie (TV premiere)...I am really tempted to say,"...Damn it! They don't fit together!"I'm a sucker for love stories. And call this whining, grumbling, w/e, but take out some really needless humour (a horse kicking a person FOUR times and falling when we know a real horse kick would send a person flying, broken ribs included), and expand on the love between the general and the princess, add a few more flashbacks, increase the time they interact in both past and present; I don't know, make a happier ending instead! It'll really make the movie much better. To me, the movie feels a little too packed. It feels...rushed. Trying to jam love, action and stuff together...it really leaves one found wanting...for more. And the ending. A book, some wine, and a zoomed-out camera...damn it I say, even putting some black-and-white versions of one or more of the flashbacks at the end, would really increase "replayability value" and made me feel closer to the movie's love story.Melodrama much, but I beg of you, Mr. Chan; your shows are good. From the "Drunken Master" to "Rush Hour", all are uniquely yours, really love your shows. But I think this time round, you really kind of smudged your own rep a little. If you consider making anything remotely resembling a romance or whatever next time, please be more serious about it. This love story will still have a place in my heart, though.

I've always been a fan of Jackie Chan. His ability to act serious and comedic has always been his strengths, this movie however was highly disappointing pretty stupid and definitely overrated. This story had potential but was poorly executed. Could have been good as 2 separate movies however combined make such a poor combination it can be compared to dipping lychee's in salt.On the one hand you have Jackie Chan in an epic love story past and present, dreams and millennium long promises waiting to be fulfilled. Epic battle sequences with adventurous archeology. However on the other hand you have Jackie Chan in his usual comedic self fascinated by dreams, action and comedy. Now if you add them together you have a serious script with added action comedy which ruin the mood, random useless scenes in India which in no way further the plot and instead a not very entertaining filler smack bang in the middle where crucial plot development could occur. The very beautiful Indian girl disrupts the main and real love story in the movie between the Korean girl. Sexual references in this movie especially when we see flashes of underwear from the Indian girl are quite inappropriate in this film. Sexual references with the Korean girl arguably could have been necessary.Tony leung kar Fai is a pretty horrible actor (well in this film anyway). He has no chemistry whatsoever with Jackie Chan. His presence weaken the plot and his fateful end leaves viewers with no emotion for him whatsoever, personally i laughed at his pitifulness. The action epic battle sequences in the Qin era were pretty impressive i must say especially the mountain of a Slain army.Quite a disappointing entry from Jackie Chan. This movie is in no way art-house, highly overrated and extremely poorly executed
