The Little Vampire Trailers

Based on the popular books, the story tells of Tony who wants a friend to add some adventure to his life. What he gets is Rudolph, a vampire kid with a good appetite. The two end up inseparable, but their fun is cut short when all the hopes of the vampire race could be gone forever in single night. With Tony's access to the daytime world, he helps them to find what they've always wanted.

One of my favorite childhood movies! Thought Rudolph was the coolest. It's now 18 years since its release (wow!, can't believe it's been that long). If you haven't seen this movie by now you don't know what your missing.

I though the movie was good and younger cousins enjoyed it they thought it was very good. I like the storyline and actors and pretty good so are the costumes I would recommend this to any child as they seem to like it. I myself not being a big fan of vampires didn't think the film was amazing but like it said its quite good to watch once in a while. What happens it Tony a little boy who has dreams about vampires and stuff one night when his parents are out a vampire flies through his window thinking that he is a vampire because he was acting like one and he asks him for help. What follows is a pretty good storyline with good acting I give this movie a 6 out of 10

Sometimes the way a film is structured, the story is so automatic, so determined that all you can do is watch the actors. The most interesting time for me is when the actors are doing something remarkable — some representational, emotional gymnastics, or some collaborative kinematics. But most times its just as it is here, you watch the actors not because they are doing anything interesting, but that they were in interesting projects. The nature of the enterprise here (vampires, kids) references stories outside the movie, so this character- by-reference idea is natural.Pamela Gidley is the human mom. She was "the girl" in Figgis' ambitious project about space fugues: "Leibestraum."Alice Krige is the vampire mom. Fantastically attractive, she has been in both a Maddin and Quay Brothers film, both in roles that you will never forget. Here she is made up as a vampire version of Queen Elizabeth, modeled more on Jenny Runacre's Elizabeth than the portraits or more conventional looks. Check the shape of the hairline to see that yes, this is Derek Jarman's Elizabeth turned from counterculture punk to vampire queen.Richard Grant was (and will always be) Withnail, and is also burned in my mind as interloper of the most outrageous orrery in film in "Hudson Hawk."And hey, here's Anna Popplewell as the preteen love interest. We just saw her in an equally vacuous movie ("Wardrobe2") now with breasts as the teen love interest. Her development and carriage seems worlds away. How the mind wanders.Ted's Evaluation -- 1 of 3: You can find something better to do with this part of your life.

I've loved all things concerning vampires since the first time I saw The Lost Boys. (Obviously not an Oscar-worthy film, but it certainly is entertaining.) When I saw previews for The Little Vampire, I must admit that I thought it looked really, really bad. I had the opportunity to watch it a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised by the film. I was impressed by the special effects, especially Rudolph's bat form. The cows were an interesting addition, too. I loved the costumes and makeup. The story and plot weren't all that original and were very predictable, but I think kids from 6 to 12 would enjoy those aspects of the film. I thought Rollo Weeks and the actress who played his sister, Anna, were terrific and I hope to see them both in more films. Jonathan Lipnicki was cute, but is that kid ever going to grow? Sheesh, he'll look 6 when graduates from college. I liked most of the adult characters, especially the vampire parents. I've seen Richard E. Grant and Alice Krige both in other movies and I enjoyed their performances. I would give this movie a 7 out of 10. It's fun to watch and only a little bit too cutesy.
