Review: After watching the first movie, which I really didn't like, I thought that I would give this film a chance to see were the director took this terrible concept. I'm glad that the director chose to bring back Fong Sai Yuk's mum, but he still stuck to the comedy element which was more silly than funny. It does get a bit serious towards the end, when his mums life is threatened by the baddies, but the storyline  seemed a bit pointless. Once again, people were fighting for every and any reason and the ridiculous choreography was so unrealistic. Personally I think the mum saved the day and the speed which Jet Li fights is second to none, but on the whole, the film really isn't my cup of tea. Disappointing! Round-Up: After reading reviews about this film, it seems like most people really enjoyed it, but I can't see why. You've got this two girls fighting over Jet Li, in the most childish way, and you've got this man with the most ridiculous laugh, battling with Jet Li just to prove that he is better than him. I just hope that the next Jet Li movie is better than these two because I was expecting much better.Budget: N/A Worldwide Gross: HK$23millionI recommend this movie to people who are into their Jet Li movies about a man trying to find out who is the traitor amongst the Red Flower Society. 2/10

Out of the recent Jet Li films I have saw like Cradle 2 the Grave and Black Mask *Jet Li - The Legend II* is one of the best ones I have come across. If you enjoyed the action in Last Hero in China or Twin Warriors I think you will have a great time with this film. This film is more darker than the original, which works for the best I think. Most of the humour is very well done and I really enjoyed it. The story is above average as well which is a bonus with Kung-Fu films. The action scenes are done very well and look great. One scene in particular at the end when Fong Sai Yuk is walking down a street to rescue his mother and is confronted by several men looks great and the slow motion build-up to the beginning is excellent.

This film looks really good on TV but not as good as the first part. The fight scenes are really impressive but I think the first part had more of them. The story continues from the first film which makes it good. This film contains some classic comedy. But I think the best fight in this film is at the end. The rest is ok. If you really liked part one this film is half good as the first one. So go rent this one if you want.

Fong Sai Yuk 2 directly continues the story of the first film, but tries to take a slightly more serious approach to the real historical characters it portrays. As a result, it has a darker feel than the original. Nevertheless, it contains numerous very funny comedy sequences, as our hero has two girls fighting over him and his doting mother on his tail. The fight sequences are not as well staged, however.
