This is one of those movies that looks promising. But it really lets that promise down. It's neither good or bad good (in the campy sense), merely very very boring. And that's how a film really fails. The apparent aim was to make a campy sort of movie - you have a cast of ridiculous characters seemingly out of various animated comedies like Sealab, King of the Hill and possibly South Park. You have one bald guy who likes to dress like a priest, another guy who wears army fatigues (and looks like the guy who mutters from King of the Hill), a goofy Science Teacher, another bald guy who wears a deck of cards on his arm.The trouble is, none of the concepts really works. All of the actors play their roles too tightly, and it comes off as more pretentious than anything else. The only exception would be the campus cop leader. The plot apparently revolves around a romantic dispute over a guy in drag. This was when I started putting the DVD player on "x4". Nothing much happens, but near the end we get sort of a surreal sort of fight with a guy painted blue and wearing a helmet and everyone else.

The film makers have created an original and quite amusing piece of work. These adventures are what gritty, classic, cult favorites are made of. This is an amazing achievement for the film making trio. The Land of College Prophets is apparently their third feature length film, which is more than most twenty-something film makers can boast, and on a very tight budget I might add! It's unique flavor may not be to everyone's liking but you would be doing yourself a great disservice to not have a taste. :) A fun romp for moviegoers seeking action, adventure, mischief and mayhem...with a side of funny.

The original story and casting are two of the stronger points in this movie that stick out the most. The Land of College Prophets (2005)touched every genre but family, sorry kids. There hasn't been a better cameo appearance in the history of movies that topped THE Pranav Thakkar in this film (must see). Not even even Eliza Dushku and Ali Larter in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, or Alanis Morissette and Janeane Garofalo in Dogma. This film wasn't drawn out, or too time consuming. a must see for any film fanatic with an appreciation towards hard work & dedication.

Army of Darknesseque, this brutal display of emotion and anti-life is a morbid tale, yet full of hope and wonderment for all. True tests of metal and stunning makeup effects make this almost mentally intangible and profound epic a masterpiece worthy of bare-boned, independent film praise and glory. Remarkable are the character developments that en snarl the hopeful yet dastardly and conniving leads of this maker of men. A rather remarkable relic is the centerpiece that spawns the rather unholy mass of destruction following an unfortunate altercation between our heroes. Tried and true are these heroes, and at times the period of this film becomes blurred by the strangeness of the times in which these characters find themselves. Brilliantly executed, the world doth seem as though it is besides itself in a beautiful display of chaos and hatred.Share it with friends whilst gnawing on the bones of that which you have thwarted!
