The fifth installment of The Land Before Time is a decent children's film with the right amount of life lessons and fun adventures decorated with three okay catchy songs. The plot can be a little thin, but there are enough good-natured and cute characters to make it likable to parents who like participating in their kids' entertainment. I enjoyed it okay. I must confess that I cracked some smiles when our beloved gang said some funny lines here and there. And come on, the twins in this movie are just so cute :)

As I have given good reviews to The Great Valley Adventure, The Time Of The Great Giving, Journey Through The Mists, and The Mysterious Island, you may be curious to know how I like the 6th installment in the series. Well, as a Land Before Time fan, I think that The Secret Of Saurus Rock is just as great. Doc/The Lone Dinosaur is a nice addition and Cera's twin nieces Dinah and Dana are adorable, although I do have to wonder where they came from since although Cera mentions having sisters in the first movie, we never see them again. The dream sequences also add a nice and very artistic touch. But probably the most interesting plot element was Saurus Rock and how it supposedly protects the Great Valley from afar and the idea, continued from the 4th and 5th movies, that the valley isn't entirely immune from outside influence. Saurus Rock itself gives the movie a very fascinating mystical element that is only added to in the next movie. See you next time, where I review The Land Before Time VII: The Stone Of Cold Fire.

Did this movie have a point? No. Is this movie memorable? No. Is this movie entertaining? Yes, yes it is. I personally found Littlefoot fanboying over the Lone Dinosaur funny and kind of relatable. I also found their bad luck kind of amusing and again really relatable and as always, I liked the action scenes. Everything else was just okay. The message, animation, and adventure are enjoyable but nothing that good. However, I actually really liked the songs. The Lone Dinosaur song is really catchy and just overall fun to sing, Bad Luck was just hilariously relatable and the last song is well sung but the lyrics could use some work. Overall, this movie is just okay. It's been overshadowed by every other movie so far since there's nothing really that memorable in it other than The Lone Dinosaur song.

The first one I watched with dad and my younger relatives. Secret of Saurus Rock is great! As I said, the 2nd best LBT(of course, the first is the best)! The young 'uns loved reenacting the fights with their little toys. (SPOILER) It's the time of the changing treestars (autumn). Littlefoot and co. are told an old dinosaur myth about the lone dinosaur and the Saurus Rock made in his honor by grandpa. All's well and dandy, but we see two baby threehorns Dina and Dana, Cera's "neices"(I don't think she's old enough to be an aunt, probably younger cousins). Then, when playing "lone dinosaur", Lil'foot falls of a small cliff but is rescued by a diploDOCus named Doc. It turns out that, after a talk with Lil'foot, Doc could be the lone dinosaur. The twins sneak off to Saurus Rock and followed by the gang. A tooth of the teeth circle around S.R.'s neck falls off. Legend claims that if SR is damaged, bad luck will come(it did). An encounter with an Allosaurus follows. Grownups accuse Doc for the luck. Lil'foot goes off to "fix" the luck. Find out the rest by your self(SPOILERS END) Overall, a great sequel for the continuing series.
