A PROMISE KEPT has a very interesting and unusual plot, the adaption is thrilling without the limitations it probably would have received if it was a big studio production, it has a good camera, an excellent soundtrack and very professional lead actors.Sean Patrick Flanery and Mimi Rogers are great, Emma Nicholas and Brian McNamara excellent and Tom Wright could have a bit more screen time. Jeff Speakman ads a lot of color to the movie. The plot surely causes discussions, and that's more than you can say about 95% of the movies. It's a good idea to watch it with friends, an interesting and probably controversial discussion afterwards is guaranteed.
... View MoreI enjoyed the movie so much! I thought most of the actors were great. I really enjoyed Sean Patrick Flanery, Joey Lauren, Brian Mcnamara, Mimi Rogers, and all of the other adults acting. I really enjoyed the movie.I thought that the child who played "Brianna" was very good, and very realistic in the abduction scene. The music was wonderful, and I thought it accompanied the movie well.Daniel Millican is a fabulous director, and did fabulous. I think that this movie is good, because it lets you know what really could be/is happening out there, and it's important to know. All in all, I really enjoyed it.
... View MoreLet me start of, by saying that this was not a bad movie. There's is enough going on to make you want to sit through it to the end. The movie also builds up quit nicely. Also the actors are adequate, not the best actors I've seen on screen, but certainly not the worst either. Mimi Rogers shows she can still act, especially in the final scene. Big emotions here, but played in a very genuine way. The one big flaw however is the movie's predictability. Already from about 1/4 in the movie on you can pretty much tell, what every character's role is in the plot. The movie would have worked much better as a thriller, when this would have been avoided.
... View More"A Promise Kept" deals with the subject of vigilantism (and another subject which you'll have to see for yourself). However, unlike most movies the scenes are well handled and tastefully done, and some scenes have very little (if any) dialogue - I found that to be refreshing because most American films tend to have the characters explain EVERY SINGLE emotion or thought, and some scenes just don't need words. The fight scenes looked a bit choppy to me - perhaps they were edited too much (being a student of the martial arts I admit I'm a little biased in that area). I recommend that people check it out and decide for themselves.
