OK... so it's a story as old as time... boy gets girl, boy loses girl, girl gets swept off her feet by mysterious stranger who ends up wanting more than just her phone number. And, alright... so the plot line and dialogue could use some work & a couple of the scenes seemed contrived (it's fiction, remember?)...but for a junior college work of art made on an extremely short schedule, nickel & dime budget, and a wing-&-a-prayer we did a damn good job putting this little gem together. I've actually seen worse on the Sci-Fi channel. Go Corsicana! It was a summer project, 17 years ago, and for this movie to even show up on a site like this, is an accomplishment. We had a great time & honestly didn't expect this baby to make it past the city limits (by the way, how did that happen?). We had heat stroke, were wounded in battle, & sometimes hungover (...was that just me?) but we made it through. For those who love 'B' movies, like myself, this is a BIG 'B' with lots of heart... if you're looking for Bram Stoker... try again :)
... View MoreThis film is not a great film. Make no mistake about it, this film is a terrible horror film. Not scary in the slightest, not imaginative at all(Well, the ending sort of is) and horribly acted. So why have I given this a perfect 10/10? It's simple: It's bloody hilarious. The plot, as it were, revolves around a new guy in town, who seems normal at first, but then the killings start....The sheer horribleness of it all is so unintentionally funny it's unbelievable. If you watch this film with the intention of being scared, then you will be bitterly disappointed. If you watch it with the intention of having a good laugh at the film's expense, then by all means seek out this film in the bargain buckets. It's one of those films you will watch with a bunch of friends, all getting the joke and joining in ripping the hell out of it. I realise this is a bit of a harsh review, but if I were the director I would be pleased I had made someone so happy.A true 'lost classic'. 10/10
... View MoreWhat a great film! OK, so there are problems - the audio track isn't great, the acting is wooden in places, the stunts aren't that impressive, and the continuity and camera work lacks the polish of a big-budget Hollywood film.Nevertheless - a great film! This film has a good pace, it updates the vampire legend and addresses the question of what does an immortal vampire do when he's not biting necks? Tim Cobb is a well-to-do vampire, who comes to a small town from "The Big City". Lisa Watts is the small town girl feeling disregarded by her current love interest, and who is won over by Cobb's sophistication.Depending on your point of view the final twist in the tale is either entirely unexpected, or entirely predictable - make your own judgement. This film is excellent source material for vampire students, although it's unlikely to go down in history as a classic.
... View MoreIt just might be that the title noun is also an adequate adjective describing this film. Alright... dreadful is, perhaps, a little too harsh; but certainly the acting is amateurish and the audio is quite inferior. The concept has been somewhat modernized: A guy and gal break up. Her next steady is a well-to-do vampire. The previous boyfriend becomes aware of this via his job as an over-worked policeman conducting murder investigations. Now his challenge is to convince her of his suspicions. In summary - there are, no doubt, options that would be much better than this movie.
