First, the fans of actors. each - far to have the decent script. the second , the fans of easy action movies. chaotic, unrealistic, using the presence of actors only as excuse. not the last , the fans of violence. in large frames, without any logic. and, maybe, the public looking for memories about real films and roles for each actor. because, except the title, so strange for a too modest film, nothing could be OK with this film.

Expected so much from the Bruce Willis / Sigourney Weaver camp but the movie failed to deliver. Henry Cavill was lead. Yet his co-star half-sister seemed to be more man at getting stuff done. Cavill just got beat up every other 10mins.Henry Cavill shows us why he wears the red underwear, just wish they make it more frilly and lace in his next sequel coz that's what he portrays throughout the film. I hate car chases when they seem inconsistent and poorly done and this movie didn't come close. Henry Cavill appeared to be a newbie behind the wheel of a BMW which seemed to weave at just about every corner while Sigourney Weaver in a Range Rover appeared calm as if the SUV was on rails. So much for German engineering. Maybe he should stick to flying.Overall not a memorable film. I could warn friends and family not to waste their time but why should I be the only one to endure the misery.

The Bourne films seemed to herald a new genre in movies, i.e. 'the chase' film. These are the ones where our hero, always wrongly accused on something and on the run from gun-totting agents from some black-ops government agency or another, has to leg it from one location to another, narrowly getting away each time (and picking up a helpful girl along the way who will serve as the 'love interest.' The Cold Light of Day is one of these sorts of films. But is it up to the 'Bourne standard?' In short - no. It's like some sort of distant cousin of the Bourne films that no one really talks about and has been left locked in an attic for most of its like while feeding off live rats and dust sandwiches. There's a guy (name unimportant). His family get kidnapped by a shady government agency (it doesn't really matter which one) and he has to get something he doesn't know about for them, in exchange for his family's safety. Oh, and along the way he meets a girl. It's one of those movies where you can either just listen to it, or maybe even watch it with the sound turned down - you'll still understand everything that happens.Basically, it's 'Bourn by the numbers,' Everything here, despite trying hard to be good, is distinctly average. The only real surprises are how this film managed to attract action heavyweights such as Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis. I can only think they fancied a trip to Spain (oh, yeah, it's set in Spain by the way) for a few days filming. They're not in it that much, despite featuring prominently on advertising campaigns. If you've never seen a chase movie before, this may come off as highly entertaining and original. However, if you have, just stick to Bourne, or any of its other clones.Failing that, it's a nice film to have on if you're doing other things at the same time, i.e. you can pop out to get a cup of tea or answer the phone and come back without missing any of the plot.

THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY is a Bourne-type thriller that attempts to set Henry Cavill up as a modern-day action star prior to his debut as Superman in MAN OF STEEL. Unfortunately it turns out to be a right load of preposterous rubbish, a uniformly rubbish film replete with bad technical values and a sub-par script. What went wrong? The story's obviously horrible, a mixture of predictability and contrivance, with Israelis and corrupt government agents fighting for possession of an important suitcase filled with...oh, I don't know. It doesn't matter, because you don't care about any of the characters, particularly the arrogant and pig-headed lead played by Cavill. The British actor seems to have lost all of the charisma and confidence he displayed in THE TUDORS, delivering a performance both wooden and stilted.Elsewhere, we get a tired-looking Bruce Willis doing his action man routine yet again, and a miscast Sigourney Weaver looking seriously out of place. The actors giving the best performances are those in supporting roles: BIRDSONG's Joseph Mawle as an assassin and POINT BLANK's Roschdy Zem as an Israeli agent. The most irritating thing about THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY is that the action is so badly handled; the car chases go on forever and look ridiculous, and most of the action is filmed in some rubbishy day-for-night style which makes it look very poor. This is definitely one to miss, no better than the level of a sub-par B-movie.
