THE BROTHERHOOD 2: YOUNG WARLOCKS (2001)(UK: Young Warlocks)Aspect ratio: 2.39:1 (Lomoscope)Sound format: StereoA group of high school outcasts are given strange powers by an influential new student (Forrest Cochran) who turns out to be a murderous demon...Unrelated follow-up to THE BROTHERHOOD (2000) amounts to more of the same, though there's even less beefcake on display, and most of the guys aren't all that attractive anyway. The one exception is former model Sean Faris, playing an innocent pawn in Cochran's devilish plot, though director David DeCoteau takes little advantage of Faris' radiant beauty. As with the original, the narrative is weighed down by acres of mind-numbing dialogue, sparked by a studs-in-underwear finale and the "Brotherhood" series' signature episode, in which two near-naked hunks 'ravish' a hypnotized young girl, staged and photographed in a manner which suggests one guy is actually seducing the other. If the movie wasn't such a poorly-conceived tease (just like the first one), this might actually be worth a damn, but it just lies there and dies there. Followed by THE BROTHERHOOD 3: YOUNG DEMONS (2002).
... View Moreholy god that was awful....i picked it up expecting a decent film, credited only as Young Warlocks (i had no idea it was part of a seris)i expected some sort of male "the craft" (obviously leaving out the part that a male witch isnt called a warlock...hes called a witch) how wrong was i to expect a good film! Half naked men running around not even very attractive men at that, splashing each other in the pool.....the homosexual tendencies are many in this film ....wooden performances is a understatement, i like tacky films really i do....but this sucked!however saying that i did like the fact the boxers relfected the guys personality...this film is in desperate need of an edit it moved fast at the start , too fast, but then it slowed down to a crawl before cramming in action near the finish.. for gods sake people its not worth watching! dont do it!!!!
... View MoreI love bad movies, I revel in them, I like to think I am ironclad when it comes to them, but this is a shocking piece of trash.I think my main problem was I came into this blind, picked out of a box of free movies that Blockbuster had thrown out, I was expecting some silly, glossy teen horror. What I got was underage gay porn, with the actual porn cut out. This is a movie about attractive young male models. They play everybody, the cool kids are played by male models with clean hair, the nerdy outcast kids by male models with greasy hair. These models do not wear shirts if they can get away with it, and even better for the director is if he can find a way to get them into their nice tight underwear. Or out of it.There is nothing wrong with having some sort of suggestion of there being a homosexual attraction between the young attractive males. However that is all this movie is. That is 100% what the director cares about. There is no horror. The black magic aspect contradicts itself over and over. Anyone who is not an underage looking male is barely given screentime. Even during a 'seduce the wanton female scene' we quickly transfer to some more male on male fun.Watching some middle age man's fantasies about underage males is very little fun, at least for me. Avoid like the plague.
... View MoreThree misfits at Chandler Academy are seduced by newcomer Luke--a strong, silent guy. It seems he's a warlock and needs fresh, young bodies to stay alive. A followup (NOT a sequel)to "The Brotherhood" is actually an improvement on the first. Like the original, this is just an excuse to show hunky, young guys in their underwear. The homoeroticism has been upped (especially in the shower and pool scenes) and this even has a little bit more violence. The story moves quickly, it is well-directed (excellent use of wide screen) and there are two good performances by Forrest Cochran as Luke and Sean Faris as John. Everybody else, however, is terrible. So, this is a passable time waster--especially for us gay guys!
