So many things misunderstood in this movie.Even the explosions can't satisfy some."....do we really want to see silly neighbourly disputes and crazy residents...." It's a small village. The plot included nearly everyone wanting someone killed. Neighbourly disputes might be a good reason to want neighbours bumped off."and whats with Bjorn killing other chip shop owners with no police presence whatsoever" He's a professional hit-man. Should he wait for the police to be present? Or does he complete the job and move on without hindrance?

I watched this for the second time today after searching for movies and material that Kate Ashfield had acted in.The inclusion of Damien Lewis and Michael Gambon added to the appeal. This is basically a feel good love story about a hit-man who decides to retire and find a better life in the countryside as a baker. He has two big problems, the first is he can't bake and the biggest problem being, his employer does not want him to live in retirement and sends a rival assassin to kill him.The local townsfolk are a group of the oddest misfits you are likely to find anywhere and that is where the fun starts.Kate Ashfield as the local animal rescuer and the love interest is superb and the love/sex scene is one of the funniest you will ever see on screen.Very well done movie and just the right length, I gave it a 7.

I want to make a stand for The British Who Enjoyed This Film. We've watched this a few times with others and everybody has been in stitches, and are spreading the word. The comic timing and perfect delivery of the dialogue is superb, its simplicity and cadence brilliant (but obviously lost on some who found it 'wooden'), enhanced by a set of very comic characters. It's refreshing to see actors from a wider pool employed instead of the same-old same-old hi-popularity niche. The choreography fits the music like a glove - one of the best sex scenes ever. :-) Don't get put off by the nay-sayers - they'd probably not enjoy street theatre either.

Considering how much acting talent Britain has, from what manure heap where did they dig up these sorry excuse for acting professionals. The lead actors esp Kate Ashfield were very wooden and unconvincing. The writing lacked purpose and meandered....do we really want to see silly neighbourly disputes and crazy residents.... and whats with Bjorn killing other chip shop owners with no police presence whatsoever except for a siren once....which was well timed to stop me falling asleep. The were too many plot holes to make this a great film. I gave 2 stars as i did learn about the existence of plastic guns designed to foil security.
