I hate films like this. Why is everyone so willing to commit adultery, sleep around on their partners, etc.? Why? The girls is just selfish that is all. She has not been with this guy in two years and then all of a sudden she throws a wrench in his relationship and plays a guilt trip on him and they get back together! I give it 6 months. I thought it was pretty convenient that his new girl was rich and so did not need his money (newfound money). All of her paranoia was legit too. So in the end, these two deserve each other. Were they not just fiction, they would definitely end up on Maury or somewhere. I suppose, though, that many women love these kind of boy men, so easily manipulated.

This film is underrated! I've watched it at least 10 times and I discover a new part of a scene each time. I wish the running time was a little longer. Jodi annoys me...it's her face! Read the production notes on the making of Take Care. There were some major production obstacles for this small set. I love Leslie Bibb after seeing this film. She's adorable, yet not afraid to look the part nd has great timing. Great acting, great chemistry with the exes. It is a film to watch over and over. Always puts me in a better mood. This is my first review and I have to say this is a film that just resonates. Love the neighbor, sister is so typical, right? Acting is fluid and the only character that isn't believable is Jodi. Seriously, she is so annoying.

...especially if you like "relationship movies." I really enjoyed this film. I found the writing and plot to be quite clever. The acting too was excellent. Often indie romance films don't quite make it. They're filled with stereotypes and wind up being boring and predictable. Not "Take Care." In this film, a woman is immobilized by a broken arm and leg and is determined to be independent. At the same time, she needs help just to get some of the basics of daily living taken care of. Her well meaning but insufferable sister is there but clearly doesn't want to be. Her good friend gets sidetracked by her own problems. Then Frannie, the MC, remembers that she took care of her ex for two years while he had cancer. She calls upon him to repay the favor. OK, what happens between them is somewhat predictable, but how they get there is fun to watch, and very engaging.

I caught the premier of this movie at SxSW. I had zero expectations because it was a premier. I liked this movie. I really liked it. I got drawn into the characters early on and was entertained throughout. It's a light movie, a great date movie, no serious world issues are turned over or discovered. It's a light comedy with some drama. Really good acting by Bibb, Sadowski and the rest of the cast. I don't want to overstate it. Perhaps my enjoyment came because I had no expectations of the movie. In fact, from the description I'd read about it I expected a heavy drama. That was not the case. The premise is not new but it's an interesting angle. I don't want to give any of the plot away because the surprise is the most fun. The story is well crafted by the writer. Well worth a watch.
