Initial Tableau: Frannie has been in an auto accident. She broke an arm and a leg. She gets incomplete help from her sister and friends. After too much of that, she appeals to 'the devil'; that is, her ex, Devon. Devon contracted cancer some years back, and Frannie had cared for him for two years until he was cured. So she gives him a sufficient guilt trip...and he acquiesces. His new girlfriend is not exactly understanding.Delineation of Conflicts: Frannie's friends do not trust Devon. Devon wants to get rid of the guilt debt. Devon's new girlfriend wants his fairly tenuous relationship with Frannie to end as soon as possible. Devon's feelings of gratitude are a bit limited, but Frannie's sense of being owed (big time) is even larger than she thought, especially when she expounds on all the things she did for him. Frannie and Devon get the opportunity to be honest with each other, which was not fun for them, but changes everything. As time progresses, Devon spends more, rather than less, time with Frannie. How is his new girlfriend going to take that?Comments: I usually do not care for studies in awkwardness, and this is no exception. Still, the film has a beginning, a middle, and an end. The exposition of motivations was probably its strong point. At least this one made some sense.

This is a surprisingly good romantic comedy B-movie! Without famous actors, visual effects and everything else, it is quite good. Why? Because it has a very good screenplay, what seems to become less and less usual in Hollywood. It follows the typical and predictable path: two people have a troublesome relationship in the beginning but it changes during the story until they become lovers/friends. Though, it is clever in its choices, is somewhat original in putting the main characters as ex-boyfriend and girlfriend, and has quite good dialogs, avoiding clichés and obvious details. I recommend everybody to put skepticism aside and give this film a chance. It is good.

This movie is not rocket science, but it is a significant step above most of the romantic drivel out there. I really liked the two leads; at first, I wasn't sure I liked either, but they became very likable characters and had excellent chemistry. I appreciated that both characters' unlikeable- ness at the beginning made contextual sense in the plot, and that they didn't just have a 180 degree change of personality, but developed into softer people as their situations changed. The girlfriend was a bit one-dimensional, and it always annoys me when the romantic lead's significant other -- who is clearly destined to be given the boot -- is so despicable that there's no conceivable way the lead would actually be dating this person. But she was nonetheless entertaining, so not all bad. I also thought the next door neighbor was well scripted and acted. I would easily watch this again - fun movie.

"Take Care" is a very cute comedy film from 2014. It is currently available on NetFlix Instant Download Streaming. It is an independent film directed by Liz Tuccillo and also written by her as well. The actors include Leslie Bibb, Tracee Chimo, Kevin Curtis, Nadia Dajani, Betty Gilpin, Michael Gordere, Marin Ireland, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Thomas Sadoski, Michael Stahl-David and Tim Wu. The story is a romantic comedy. There is a young woman who is injured in a car accident, so she is unable to walk or care for herself. She convinces an ex boyfriend to assist her in her routine activities. He is currently with another woman, so there is a rift in relationships. It is a little slow, but I gave it 6 stars.
