Christopher Abbott is a brilliant actor and he really shines with this character. He's genuinely terrifying in fact. The other characters stories aren't lacking but Abbott just outdid them. I think we were meant to concentrate on the hero toward the end but it was hard to care about him tbh. The film falls short of something toward the end, I can't really put my finger on it.

I paid 7 bucks to rent on ITunes so took a bit of a gamble and glad I did. Gritty and dark. Jon Berthnal as always is fantastic. Christopher Abbott absolutely amazing. It's definitley a little hidden gem you should watch if you like nice little crime drama's.

One of those movies where the trailer looks so promising but then you are so disappointed when you watch the whole movie. This movie joins in with shows like true detective. All people are so sad all the time. They are all somehow broken inside. This can be interesting with the right story and good execution but that is what's missing here. I actually like when actors don't enunciate everything crystal clear but in this movie the line delivery of the men is just plain mumbling. I also have no problem when there are longer scenes where no one speaks but then I should either see some development in the characters by watching their body language or mimic or what they do. But here you have scenes that seem as if the director had to fill time which seems very odd because the movie is very short in the first place.I like Benthal but that this movie fails to deliver anything is not the fault of the cast but of the choices the director makes.

A man (Christopher Abbott) walks into a bar and says. "I'll have the early bird special." The bartender says, "We're closed." So we know who the killer is as the film switches to Sam (Jon Bernthal) a retired rodeo rider and motel manager, the place where the killer stays. The rodeo thing didn't tie back into the script. Normally when you introduce something like that, it should tie back in. The film is a slow burn without an over whelming climax. Filmed in Canada, the location was supposed to be a small community near Roanoke, Virginia. Acting was fine, drama a little slow.Guide: F-word. Sex. partial nudity.
