I had the opportunity to see Insurgentes at the MMAMM in Mendoza , Argentina ... and it's an exquisite piece with an excellent photography that reveals the origins and thoughts of the musician Steven Wilson, showing his more vulnerable side , more human. It's ironic and critical of the new technologies, and is a journey where it creates different atmospheres, some kind of surreal and bizarre, very well accompanied with music, where it stand out the personal touch of the Director Lasse Hoile. It gives you the opportunity to discuss and share or not Steven's thoughts.I highly recommended this film, not only for Steven and Lasse's fans , but for all audiences to understand that art is an extension from the soul of the creator.
... View MoreI'm blown away by every element of this film....the music, the art direction, the subject matter...all of it captures you deeply and you come away with a real sense of understanding. The honest commentary from these artistes is exactly what the music industry needs more of - uninhibited, unapologetic stand points. But it's not just hot air and opinion that we're hearing - these guys have the determination and commitment to their art to see their visions through, regardless of whether it makes them popular or not. Highly recommend this film for it's refreshing and perceptive approach. Really makes you stop and think. Hauntingly beautiful too.
... View MoreAt the beginning you'll find the movie kind of interesting, but each second that passes it becomes more than a movie; my senses got caught with the music that Steven creates and, even when he was the Star in the film, Lasse is the one that made possible this, his ideas complement what Wilson is trying to show. I really enjoyed it, I went to watch a "movie" and at the end of the credits I was more than satisfied with the result. The film shows the description about Wilson's career, since the beginning in his musical life and how does it evolves until our times. What's Wilson's perception about the ipods, the cellphones, the technology that disrupts our minds? These topics and more are debated in the film. Finally, this movie is perfect for those who are Steven's fans or those who loves the photography, cinematography, who are worried about the society in our time, those musicians who could discover a different point of view about this job. Hope you'll like it.Sorry if I had some mistakes

Everyone who loves music, the ideas and thoughts behind it should do themselves a favor and see this documentary - NO... you must see this film! It really gives you something to think about. For many years, Hoile has been an acclaimed artist, photographer, graphic-artist, writer, film-maker/director, and cinematographer. With this documentary One can clearly see his talent. In Insurgentes is like seeing his photo-art put together one a string ... it is well made. Steve Wilson must be a very, very happy man.
