Horrible. One of the worst movies I have ever watched. Actually I only watched half, I couldn't take anymore than that. Nothing was good about this "film" apart from the plot which sounded great on the DVD jacket. The Director needs to learn how to do his job. The writers of the dialogue need to be banned from ever putting word to paper again. The actors could have ruined their careers with this. I like Sean Astin for his roles in films like LotR and Rudy. So I know he's better than this. At the time of my writing this review the "film" is 12 years old. Even though most people who would have watched it have done so, I feel an obligation to society to try and make sure nobody else wastes time and money, even if you find it for a buck like I did, on this garbage.
... View MoreThey had me at time travel, but they lost me with a terrible story. This 2005 movie is really dated, and not really something that you can enjoy today. I like Vinnie Jones and I think we all like Sean Astin, Ivana Milicevic from Banshee is in there too, and between the three of them you would expect something much better. From the start the story is just a complete mess, and the players are all just running around uncertain of where they should be, there must have been a lot of angles shot for each time loop, but it really seems to have confused most of the actors a lot. The gun play is like an old episode of A-team, as they bullets fly, and only when it is good for the story does anyone ever get hit. Really sorry I missed this one when it came out so that I could now be 9 years older, and have perhaps forgotten most of it, sadly that is not the case for me, and I did not Enjoy this movie at all. I really wanted to like this, and if you asked my Son he would tell you I give time travel movies way more time than they deserve, but because this is so bad, and I'll be more specific; The acting is awful, the time travel is handled floppily, and the action is aimed at those with IQ's in the single digits. So stay far away from this even if you are a time travel junkie like I thought I was until watching this.
... View MoreThis almost feels as if a Schizophrenic was getting Alzheimers. Maybe it is a parody on the movie industry. However, when we work to show a purpose for living, I believe Sir Anthony is looking in vain if all there is to life is time. We are better than that. Movies portray the greatness of man and man at his worst. Each one of us touches other human beings and movie makers can make people think or let people escape. While this film may make one think, it is very confusing and it bounces off the wall. Great movies such as "The Lion in the Winter" was complicated, showed human weakness and human spirit. Sir Hopkins' role as the writer in this is just too strange to wrap one's mind around and understand. I could not escape nor could I relate to the characters with my life experiences. Therefore, I cannot rate this film highly.
... View MoreI was tempted to give this movie a one out of ten, but it did at least have a few original ideas, so I gave it a two. It was just truly awful, a complete waste of time.I watched this move with my wife, and she was bored before the end of the opening credits. I have a bit more patience than that, but by the time you're 2/3 of the way into the movie, you just can't wait for it to end. It's not that you're wondering how it's going to end, because that is painfully obvious after 20 minutes, it's that you want the suffering to end. There is *no* suspense. The plot is entirely predictable. There are a lot of cool effects. Or at least, there are a lot of effects that would have been cool had they been used in a way that served the plot. But they just don't.There are long stretches in the movie where it's obvious that time is just being wasted. One scene spins interminably as we see different characters all shooting at nothing in particular. *Nobody* gets hit by any of these bullets despite the fact that they're all in the same room and have clear lines of fire. It's nauseating and nonsensical. This scene bears no relationship to the plot at all, apparently, they just wanted to show us that they could make a camera spin.I could give more examples, but there's no point. Just don't watch the movie and save yourself two hours of your life.
