By a distance the crudest and most pointless film I've seen to have come out of modern Hollywood(I've avoided others that I reckon must be equally bad).I bet this went down well with people under 30 but from my over 60 point of view it I blushed for all the people caught in a cinema watching this thinking they were seeing something funny and warm. The weird sisters were trapped in a perpetual teenage world view and their parents deserved better. Is there anyone so chained to the childhood home that they would act this way?Every scene was written by someone with a tin ear for humour. If in doubt make it sexual or toilet .The phallus on the wall is somehow a suitable symbol for this crass film. The two actresses involved ,somehow highly rated, should go and wash their mouths out with soap and water, then use their talents for better ends.I've heard a lot about how great they are but in scene after scene their reputations were diminished.God awful.

This is a formula movie, and I'm sure you're seen it before. I'm sure you've seen the party scene that gets way out of control, the person not invited who tries to ruin it, adults acting like children, and other things, so I'm sure yo won't be surprised, but this movie was pretty funny thanks to the two stars. It could have been better though.Tina Fey (an irresponsible mother) and Amy Poehler learn that their childhood home is about to be sold and decide to hold a party to hold onto it. Of course, things get way out of control. The party scene was hilarious, but could have been toned down a little bit.I enjoyed the party scene, the part where they rescued the daughter from the sinkhole, Poehler's scenes with her "love interest," and Fey's scenes with her daughter.** 1/2 out of ****

I wish I could give this piece of puerile garbage a big fat zero stars. I seem to be in good company in panning this cinematic abortion.I am no prude, but the non-stop vulgarity just about unhinged me. I've long been a Tina Fey fan, but I'm off her now for good. The only funny part was when the main male character landed on a dancing ballerina music box, and it went straight up his jacksy. I hope he was in a lot of pain. What an insult to our intelligence is this movie. I felt like opening the window after it was finally over.I'm glad I saw it for free on SKY.

Why so many haters?? Tina and Amy are freaking HILARIOUS and they didn't let me down in this movie. Yes it's crude, vulgar, full of explicit language, and it made me laugh hysterically multiple times. It's a fairly simple premise, with throwbacks to the gross-out teen party flicks of the 80s and 90s - only this time it's a bunch of middle aged adults going wild, trying to push aside the stress and monotony of being responsible grown-ups and reclaiming their glory days when they 'partied like they were never gonna die'. Underneath it all are themes revolving around the unbreakable bond between sisters and family, growing up and letting go of your past. Fantastic supporting cast, extremely amusing jokes, one liners and physical comedy. All the people freaking out and hating on this movie need to relax, it's a popcorn comedy flick. Enjoy it for what it is.
