I watched this entirely in french so i cannot comment on any of the dialogue but i dont think it mattered in this, its not hard to understand, it was a sad movie and i thought that the torture scenes would be too much for me but i handled it fine because the man was so awful, what he did to the little girl was so awful, i really felt for the husband and wife, especially the husband, the acting was wonderful even without English subtitles, i was immersed in the story and felt pain along with the parents(obviously nothing compared to what parents actually feel in this situation ) so i cried my eyes out when he sees his daughters ghost and unties her and washes her, it was so .. gentle and i knew he wished so bad that he could of done this for her , i also noticed that the deer seemed to be some sort of symbol, like how it was dead and he tried to bury it like he was trying to bury the pain of his daughters death and find a way to avenge her death and the view of the deers body decayed further even after he tried to bury it kind of felt like it was part of his emotions and went together with him torturing the man and dealing with his hatred and sorrow and trying to fight through the indignity of his daughter death sorry its hard to explain but i think it all was connected .

I believe any father of a little Girl OR Boy, that was mercilessly abused and killed by the animal portrayed in the film. Although probably incapable of such cold calculated violence, as portrayed in the film ( or the medical skills to keep him alive ) would, at The least, just for a fleeting moment, want to replicate the " Good Doctor's " actions. I agree with others that have stated the lack of music, special effects and other " mood enhancements " leave the viewer, in particular fathers, to decide for themselves how the Dr, fathers, actions make them feel within themselves, rather than walk away able to say it was the directors choice of music or effects that made them feel the way they did, after watching the film. It's very confronting for those that find themselves cheering for the Dr that it was the circumstances that left them feeling that way rather than effects or music choosing the moral viewpoint they adapt at the end of the film. I for one felt that the Police officer who called in the fathers location towards the end betrayed any man finding that they are faced with the circumstances of the film. I want to believe that upon finding myself in those circumstances that I would act just like the Dr. Any doubts that I had about those feelings disappeared when I saw the pedophile murderer, crying and trying to bargain his way out of his fate. Some would say " 7 Days " was a Horror or Violent genre, again I must disagree and say I found it rather more a philosophical movie. Put yourself in the girls fathers shoes and walk a week with him. Then see how YOU feel at the end.

I was really looking forward to watching this as I love revenge films. I would love to say I enjoyed watching this from the start through to the end. Sadly I can't. I didn't know when I bought the film it was French, quite strange to not have any music at all. I could feel the pain of the parents loosing their baby, very very, very slow film. I was expecting a lot of violence as the front cover stated it was going to be bad, but no, I've seen more in other films. The footage of the girl when her dad finds her is gritty and shocking. When the parents blame each other its sad but honest as most people blame either themselves or each other. When the parents of the other children named comes forward and state what they think and feel there's a big difference.

Surgeon Bruno Hamel lives an ordinary suburban life with his wife and daughter Jasmine. Jasmine goes missing and then found brutally raped and murdered. Anthony Lemaire is arrested with undeniable evidence. Bruno drugs the prison transport driver and kidnaps Lemaire. He promises police detective Mercure that he will kill Lemaire in 7 days on Jasmine's birthday. Mercure himself had lost his wife in a convenient store shooting. There is a quiet brutality about torture but the characters are a little too quiet about it. His inner conflict actually bugged me a little. The villain is an absolute villain. If there is more doubt, it would have made Bruno's hesitation more understandable. I like the other mother character. Overall, the movie has very little tension and it could have been more intense with a few changes.
