What would I have done, is the question I was left asking myself while watching. Really good movie, thought provoking and stout. Also goes to show how small the world is. Give this movie a watch.

I'm sure in light of all the little criticisms, whatever, from Ebert or others, the writer here has got all the angles, plot points covered. Much like a film I wrote, Seeking Justice was a film that had me from the start, involving a guy who's bumped off, which made me recollect that scene in Color Of Night, where a pushed car goes off the roof of a car park. Seeking Justice is a thoroughly entertaining film, where if you had to work out all the why's, how's, what's, if's, you'd wrack your crazy, and wouldn't be able to enjoy this movie at all. If you even did that after this movie, you'd go nutso. I love the interesting path this story takes, where more layers of it, develop. Nicholas's Cage's beautiful wife (Jones) who very much looked like that hot chick from Roadhouse 2 is raped by this podgy A list scumbag. She's beaten up pretty bad, evoking quite a rage in our Will (Cage, who plays dramatic roles really good) He's approached by Simon, (yes that's Guy Pearce, again in solid form, bald and all, outshining Cage, sorry Nic). This menacing stranger, offers Will a chance to exact revenge, by giving him a green light to have this scumbag killed. Apparently, Simon knows where he lives. It's a go, and the scumbags' killed. Now what begins, on what is such a painfully predictable path, is that Simon wants something in return, so I'll leave it there, as I really want to give away the story. Cage is really good, Jones is beautiful, but like I said, Pearce knocks it out the ball park, with easily the best performance in the film. Though not without faults, this straight to DVD pic absorbs the viewer the more the movie progresses. I quite enjoyed this one, Cage doing a few straight to DVD, must watch pics around this time. He is a highly criticized actor, nominated for Raspberry awards he just shouldn't be nominated for. He's always good and never disappoints, no matter the project. He's a really good actor, cause he's a brave actor, and will take it all the way. Just go back through his filmography to Valley Girl, where there he showed the same uninhibited bravado. The lead up to climactic finish in this supercharged film is thrilling and exciting. What's I really liked about Seeking Justice, is you don't know what surprise, the next opening door will bring or will take you, but primarily the exciting surrounding set up; thick plotting of story concerning character's motivations.

Justice is a derivative and inept vigilante thriller starring Nicolas Cage showing another example of how far down his career has quickly plummeted to making lower budget movies made more for the VOD market.Cage plays Will a high school English teacher in a rough inner city school whose wife is violently raped. At the hospital he is met by a mysterious stranger named Simon (Guy Pearce) who tells him that the justice system will let him down and he knows who the rapist is and can have him taken care of. All he wants in return is for Will to do him a favour some time in the future. It seems Simon is heading a secret and underground vigilante organisation that takes part in revenge justice. Some time later Will is contacted by Simon who wants him to follow someone and then take action against a sexual deviant. Will has qualms about this but finds himself too deep. Before long he is under suspicion of murder and the person he might be responsible of killing is not a deviant but an investigative reporter on the trail of this group. Will also realises that this group has wide tentacles with a lot of people belonging and having a secret codeword. Will has few people he can trust, his wife is in danger as Simon goes after Will. You do wonder why Simon needs Will to kill this deviant? There are others in the group who could had done the job better and neater. Also why did Simon need to frame Will because of his reluctance apart from that it needed to be a necessary plot device.Rather early on we guess that Simon is unhinged which makes us question why others in his group have not fathomed this. The plot is mundane, the characters are sketchy, the acting is below par as everybody is only there for the money. Films like Death Sentence starring Kevin Bacon have done this kind of cheap genre film better.

There's something satisfying about watching a vigilante thriller . It's not necessarily a good film but one of my favourite films of my teenage years was THE EXTERMINATOR Vietnam vet John Eastland best buddy from the war is crippled by some scumbags and Eastland embarks on a crusade against human vermin who he tortures , mutilates and kills . , Very enjoyable stuff that appeals to the frustrated nature of humanity . One problem is there's only a limited number of ways to skin a cat and it's the same when it comes to gangsters , paedos and muggers . You can kneecap them , stick them in to a mincing machine and burn them alive , but there's only a self limiting structure to vigilante movies . There's an inciting incident that turns Joe Average in to public avenger and he bumps off some creeps . The end . To be fair JUSTICE does try to bring a new twist to a formula that has been done many times before but isn't as successful as it tries to be Nicolas Cage plays Will Gerard a man whose wife is raped and right away there might be a few warning bells ringing . Cage isn't really an outstandingly awful actor but he is an extremely prolific one starring in one mediocre film after another that you'll have forgotten about by the time you've left the multiplex and JUSTICE follows Cage's career arc . While Gerard's wife lies in an intensive care unit a stranger called Simon introduces himself to Gerard telling him he represents a vigilante group and if he wants he'll liquidate the rapist in question . That's very nice of him but being a film everyone outside this scenario knows fine well that no good turn goes unpunished and it turns out Simon's vigilante group want Gerard to repay the favour by bumping off someone they claim is a child pornographer . Of course it'd be too simple if he was a depraved sexual deviant so there's more to it than that but regardless of the group's agenda why do they need to involve Gerard ? Why didn't one of the group members carry out the killing ? No matter how you approach it you can't ignore the totally illogical nature of the plotting . Of course there's an element of if someone did something sensible same as they would in the real world then we wouldn't have a movie but always aware with JUSTICE that you're watching a movie rather than being involved in a story that could be happening out in the real world . There is perhaps an element that this is a vaguely liberal antidote to the vigilante films that are vaguely right wing but doesn't do anything in a convincing manner and despite being moderately entertaining you'll remember very little about it apart from the plot holes
