Seeing the other horrendous reviews on this. I just had to speak out. When you guys did your reviews did you also consider the ff: A.It's a small budget film, B.It's their first film, C.Everyone is still pretty new in the biz. With that said I believe everyone did their best. Yeah it may not garner an Oscar but with what they were working with even I'm surprised with the results. There is a lot of heart that went in making it clearly and while it does leave room for improvement, considering the facts I mentioned above, I know it deserves the score I gave it. OK onto the reviewComments: Personally I love the concept of the show. Time traveling has never been portrayed in such an interesting manner as Runaway Machines did. Yes it may seem like a recycled topic but they did an awesome job at making it modern and fresh. I really do like it. Considering this as amateur work doesn't even cut it as it can be said that the people behind this have truly outdone themselves and are in dire need of a well deserved pat in the back. Kudos to you guys for your awesome imagination and turning that imagination into reality. The storyline/plot although predictable was easy enough to follow and understand. It's the first season and its their first time in all this so its understandable but I can say that it was definitely well written as it was able to push its story thru to people. The acting was good. The delivery of the lines especially by Anna Akana was awesome. Sure she needs a few polishing here and then in some scenes but that can be forgiven as she was able to meet the standards or outdo them most of the time. The same can be said for most of the characters. Actually, thinking about it now I think most of them did really well as I can't find any single one that I remember thinking "oh my! This one's acting sucks". That in itself shows how everyone took their parts seriously no matter how big or small their screen-time. Lots of shining moments too esp. from the character Jay in episode 5 when he told off Riley for being so reckless. It was heartfelt and you can tell there was sincerity in it. Riley on the other-hand was able to keep the energy up on that scene as she explained her side albeit emotionally. That scene really moved me. It was kind of unexpected but a welcomed surprise none the less. The facial expressions were all good. I like how I learn something from her whenever she opens her mouth esp during her excerpts every starting scene. It just show how well thought out it was and how imaginative and talented the person is. She not only funny but you learn a thing or two from her too. Its a win win situation. The video was funny to watch too. All the punchlines were epic. It wasn't boring at all and proceeded at an appropriate pace(heck even my Aunt can watch and I'm sure she'll get it)The music used were spot on. They were able to hit all scenes with the right song choice I believe. Everything was in perfect harmony. The opening and ending cuts were really good too. It did not look amateur at all. This seriously passes for a good movie. Some of you may argue with that but hear me out. This has a lot of heart and you can tell they poured their souls out in making it. I'm just giving it the praise it deserves. Yeah it may have flaws but the flaws make it genuine. It's perfect.PS I just wish they'd pursue continuing the series as it left the 1st season with a cliff hanger. I'm itching to know what happens next. ... View MoreFirst off, i expected a lot because they hype it up for almost a half year. But unfortunately..... The acting was super bad and the cast was super generic. The story was not well put together and sometimes the camera was to shaky. That this project has scored higher than an 8 is only because there are a lot of young girls who have voted a 10. But i know that Ray himself knows that it was not that good because, he himself points out that the trailer looked better than the movie itself. But what irritated me the most was that they made it five episodes of 10 minutes, that made it look even more amateurish. Also i was expecting a lot because Anna (the writer) has awesome videos on youtube. But yeah i got nothing more to say. Hopefully the next project will be better because this was embarrassing...But it would be perfect for something like the Disney Channel! On a good note, Anna (Riley) looked very hot....
... View MoreThis short movie has actually turned out better than I had expected.Besides the bad ( but understandable ) acting of SOME actors, the scenes with the "government" men in the middle of the movie and at the end, I enjoyed it very much.Although some say that it was cliché, and perhaps it was, I honestly expected a sad ending and the happy ending actually surprised me.I was also surprised by Ray's work and I see a lot of potential in him.I hope he will continue his work and maybe work with some other people, together with whom he can make a better job.I give it an 8/10.
... View Morei loved Riley Rewind! it was powerful, emotional, had great special effects and the acting (for the most time) was pretty good. never thought midget Ray would make something this amazing!the special effects: the effects were awesome! i loved how they showed animated sketches, it had a really great touch to the series. and there's the bomb explosion at the start of Act 1, which was awesome as hell! the bummer is that i didn't get to see it again, which made me sad a little. but overall, awesome.the sets: Riley Rewind's a low budget independent project so at first i was like "i don't know if i'm gonna like the sets". but i was dead wrong, the sets are fantastic! everything looked so real and well done. props to everybody on that!the script: this thing has a fantastic story: Anna plays a normal girl named Riley Brown who can time travel (or "rewind") to change her past. i thought that was awesome. it was written by Anna and honestly she did a really good job. i liked the dialogue too, it was really well written. and you end up caring about everybody in this movie, all the characters were amazing.the acting: for the most part, the acting was way better than i thought it was gonna be. there are those moments in the series where everything gets dark and it makes you tear up (like the scene where Angela commits suicide, i leaked a few tears at that part). granted, sometimes the acting can get a little bit too cheesy and weak, but overall everybody did their job really well (especially Anna and Lamar).Overall: i loved the show! it had me at the edge of my chair the whole time. i laughed and i ever cried it was so good. Ray and Anna, you're the best! keep on the great work, i gotta see more from you :D9.5/10
