Residents of a small backwoods community summons the murdeeous demon of vengeance himself for revenge against a local mortician who wronged there deceased love ones, while a town physician seeks to kill those involved in it's summoning. Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes is way better than 'Blood Wings' but also way creepier and for a low budge straight to dvd horror sequel? The soundtrack was suprisingly great (the church sequence was awesome) and the acting wasn't bad either. Henrisken's cameo was cool too as Ed Harley. (6.5/10)

Yes, the first 'Pumpkinhead' film was actually pretty cool - largely helped by Lance Henriksen in the leading role. Then came the sequels - horror sequels. And, true to form, each one seemed to get progressively worse. This one, although by no means horrendous, is simply just trying to cash in on the first film's success.Yes, Lance Henriksen comes back, but his scenes are fleeting and you really get the feel he's only doing it for an easy paycheque. However, you do have Doug Brady (or 'Pinhead' if you've seen 'Hellraiser') and he does his best to lift this film out of the doldrums. However, no matter how good the cast is, you just can't escape the fact that it's a retread of the original which isn't as good.Yes, there are some decent 'monster moments.' The monster himself has always been pretty cool, but then there are also equally some pretty ropey CGI moments, too. It's just a pity they seemed to use all their budget up on the cast and a few good effects and left little room to pay a good writer to come up with something a little more fresh.

Rating…3 / 5 Genre…Horror, Pumpkinhead Series Director…Jake West Stars…Doug Bradley, Douglas Roberts, Lisa McAllister, Tess Panzer, Emanuel Parvu, Ioana Ginghina, Lance Henriksen, Radu Iacobian, Catalin Paraschiv, Dan Astileanu Synopsis…The Demon of vengeance once again crawls out of the swamp when he is summoned by village folk seeking retribution for a doctor (Bradley) who found a unique work around for keeping his fellow townies safe. By selling the organs of their loved ones on the black market. The ghost of Ed Harley (Henriksen, returning from the 1988 original) tells them not to do it but you know they will do it anyway.Thoughts…Jake West (Evil Aliens, Razor Blade Smile) does a pretty decent job getting the third film of the series back in line with the original after a rather bad sequel. The special effects also beat out the second outing. Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the Hellraiser series) is always fun to watch as a baddie and it was cool that they worked Lance Henriksen back into the mix even though it was more of an afterthought than anything else.In Conclusion…If you thought "Blood Wings" was bad but did enjoy the late Stan Winston's original Pumpkinhead than give this one a shot. For a SciFi Channel original it's not half bad.

This movie should be expected to be bad and therefore not a surprise when it turned out to be so. Obviously going to be questionable since its a t.v. movie, but there are still TV movies out there worth watching. Low budget film. Average, if not below average CGI effects. Poor acting. Poor directing. Very few entertaining parts if any. Not a good movie for the horror fans out there who appreciate good horror flicks, but rather a mockery of what even a decent t.v. horror flick should be. The only minor good thing about this was it had lance henriksen who is awesome in almost everything he's in. If your a horror buff definitely skip this one. Actually everyone should skip this flick, the only people who should watch it are people who saw how bad the second one was and wanted to see if the third was better or worse. I.E. Pumpkinhead fans (are there really any?) may want to check it out but for everyone else, there are much much better horrors out there.
