Residents of a small backwoods community summons the murdeeous demon of vengeance himself for revenge against a local mortician who wronged there deceased love ones, while a town physician seeks to kill those involved in it's summoning. Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes is way better than 'Blood Wings' but also way creepier and for a low budge straight to dvd horror sequel? The soundtrack was suprisingly great (the church sequence was awesome) and the acting wasn't bad either. Henrisken's cameo was cool too as Ed Harley. (6.5/10)

A few years ago when the sci-fi channel still aired in South Africa (it no longer does because of some of the Japanese anime) I watched the first pumpkin head movie and basically thought it wasn't anything major but it was a fun old movie, but I never saw blood wings although I never knew it had a second film I thought ashes to ashes was the second film, until one of my friends told the second movie called blood wings.Anyway I eventually saw ashes to ashes, but have yet to see blood wings, my first thought of the early part of this film was that it had potential but after a while, the more it carried on the more it fell flat in terms of new ideas, and then as other characters are introduced you notice the actors that play them are not very good, and most of them don't even speak with their natural voices, one of these actors I recognize from the Steven Seagal movie Attack Force, he plays the character Oliver (Emanual Parvu) and does speak English with a french accent, although if you watch Attack Force and this film you'll notice the difference in his voice, because they dubbed it to make him sound like a hillbilly along with other french actors in the film.I am not gonna go into detail on how poor the creature effects are and trust me films of the same caliber do have better effects, I'll just plainly say they suck compared to the first film who's saving grace was its creature effects.

Its been twenty years since Pumpkinhead has seen the light of day or dark of night. When a small town discovers that the bodies of their friends and loved ones have been dumped into the local swamp, citizens are outraged. When they find out that their body parts were sold by the mortician...there is hell to pay. With the help of the local witch Haggis(Lynne Verrall), Pumpkinhead is summoned through the mummified remains of Ed Harley(Lance Henriksen)himself; the hideous monster goes on a rampage of revenge at will. The cast also features: Doug Bradley, lisa McAllister, Doug Roberts, Tess Panzer, Philip Bowen and Emanuel Parvu. Violence and gore galore.

This movie should be expected to be bad and therefore not a surprise when it turned out to be so. Obviously going to be questionable since its a t.v. movie, but there are still TV movies out there worth watching. Low budget film. Average, if not below average CGI effects. Poor acting. Poor directing. Very few entertaining parts if any. Not a good movie for the horror fans out there who appreciate good horror flicks, but rather a mockery of what even a decent t.v. horror flick should be. The only minor good thing about this was it had lance henriksen who is awesome in almost everything he's in. If your a horror buff definitely skip this one. Actually everyone should skip this flick, the only people who should watch it are people who saw how bad the second one was and wanted to see if the third was better or worse. I.E. Pumpkinhead fans (are there really any?) may want to check it out but for everyone else, there are much much better horrors out there.
