Acting is insulting. I love how nonchalant she is from being hit on by her brother in law (no emotion), waking up to the tent being taken out from under her and all supplies stolen (no emotion), hears a gun shot when she's all alone (nothing). I mean, this is either terrible writing or directing... everything about it.... you might need drugs to enjoy this film.
... View MoreNot an unenjoyable film, just a bit of a pointless one. Preservation takes a well-established horror premise of a camping trip gone awry and, well, does it again. What it has going for it is its cool soundtrack, its nice cinematography and its somewhat interesting characters. Other than that, there's very little to distinguish it from any other slasher film set in the woods. Average.
... View MoreOkay, I'm not yet done with the movie but I feel like this is already a somewhat not horrible horror movie. So far, my feelings are eh. The dog dies, so yes, I most likely won't like the rest of the movie. Then, the brother "kills" the first one, or one of the three killers. He turns his back, which is a BIG mistake. At least knock him out? The husband, is an idiot for taking the suspended water to a tree when the water bottles were stolen, and then stepped into his own trap?? Don't take suspended water from a tree. The wife, she gets unconscious from hitting that rock, then gets up rather quickly? She tries to hot-wire the truck, of course, but couldn't so she gears up and goes /back/ into the woods?? You don't do that..? You go away from the woods and get help, like she said she would??
... View MoreTo start off, I want to say that the trailer practically shows you how the movie is going to play out. As for the actual movie, it started off good, it developed the characters well, the cinematography was pretty, and it just came off as a professionally made movie. It was once the killers took their first victim that it went downhill for me. Leading up to the first kill, it was a very intense scene, until the victim does the classic "turns around after immobilizing bad guy" mistake. It was just really disappointing, but more so frustrating. There was one scene in particular that was suppose to be emotional, and it would have been very much so if the movie hadn't already ruined itself. Still though, If you're thinking about watching the movie, I say do it. Even though it wasn't good, it's still not a waste of time.
