When news of John Smith's death reaches America, Pocahontas is devastated. She sets off to London with John Rolfe, to meet with the King of England on a diplomatic mission: to create peace and respect between the two great lands. However, Governor Ratcliffe is still around; he wants to return to Jamestown and take over. He will stop at nothing to discredit the young princess.

I watched this movie after watching the first one with my little cousin I would say this movie is actually quite nice because this movie will explain what happen next Butttt the songs is very very bad and I know in the real story Pocahontas ends up with John Rolfe and bc of that this movie makes John Smith really weird not like the first movie that introduces John Smith as a very nice and selfless person

It appears that a recurring theme in the Disney sequels is drastic changes to character traits established in the first movie so that the writers don't have to think too hard in putting together their half-baked little cash grab. In the first Pocahontas, John Smith wanted to do all he could to help bring peace between his and Pocahontas' people and was even willing to die to save his best friend's life. Here, he doesn't care about anyone except himself and tries to make Pocahontas' decisions for her. They do this so they can justify Pocahontas leaving him so she can end up with the newly-introduced John Rolfe who became her husband historically but guess what? I don't watch Disney Movies to get a history lesson; I watch them to see happy endings where couples are able to get together despite unfortunate circumstances at the end of the last movie. Also, if John Rolfe was introduced to bring historical accuracy into the mix, he did a very poor job because everything else about the movie is historically inaccurate from Pocahontas not being married to him before she left for London to the undergarments depicted herein being those of the 19th century, not the 17th where the movie is set. All John Rolfe's introduction manages to do is retcon the tragedy of Pocahontas and Smith not being together as like I said, the writers make it so that it ends up being a good thing.Do yourself a favour and stick with the original Pocahontas while making up an ending where Smith returns to Virginia to be with her.

Spoiler Alert - I simply had to create an account on IMDb just so I could rate this movie. If you haven't watched it yet, consider yourself lucky. Don't watch it. It'll leave you with a very disappointed feeling and will be a waste of an hour and 13 minutes of your life.Okay, yes, obviously the creators of the first Pocahontas didn't pay attention during history class, but Disney is not supposed to be historically accurate. Their movies are inspired by these legends, not entirely based off of them. I personally think the first movie was amazing, and one of my favorites, despite all the mistakes. However, Disney had to go on and create another sequel to Pocahontas, and instead of making the beautiful movie they had created before, they make two dimensional characters, bland lines, and songs that didn't seem to fit into the scene.Even worse, and this part is the part that disappointing me the most, instead of ending up with the original hero, John Smith, Pocahontas decides to go with the newly introduced main male character, John Rolfe. Yes, Disney actually got this little fact right; she does end up marrying him in reality, but do I care? When I get to the end of this movie, I expect the original couple to be together! What happened to "I'd rather die tomorrow than live a hundred years not knowing you", or "I'll always be with you. Forever."? *Sigh* "It'd would have been better if we had never met. None of this would have happened" Yes, maybe it would have been Pocahontas. Then you could have gotten together with John Rolfe and I wouldn't be /quite/ so disappointed with the second movie.

I adore Pocahontas , and this movie just ruined my love for her. I'm those type of girls that like it when a Disney character likes one guy, and doesn't go off for another guy just because the other guy couldn't exactly contact her or whatever it may be. And what's with the John's. I think one is enough. What did John Smith ever do to deserve her leaving him? And what had that other John done to deserve her love, NOTHING!!!! John Smith practically put down his life to do what was right and this other John did nothing but get her out of a prison where she wouldn't have been if it weren't for him in the first place. I swear if they make a third movie, I'm going to cry
