This is a very short film from director Patrick Jean, who made this 5 years ago. It's a version of a 2015 film which will probably become pretty popular once it gets released, so maybe more people will also see this short movie then. Anyway, Jean includes many video game references, but as it's called "Pixels", obviously the games used in here are all fairly old. Two examples would be Pacman or Pinball. It's a nice little idea and solid execution of a metropolis that is overrun from pixels. I really liked that the director did not drag this longer than necessary because it could have gotten repetitive pretty quickly, but it's all good the way it is. Nothing extraordinary, but a cute little work and I recommend it.

Now this is how a combination of CGI and live-action footage should be."Pixels" is a pretty clever and well done short, which made a great tribute to several 8-bit Games, putting some elements of those video-games in a Disaster-movie context. The result is highly enjoyable to watch, being able to achieve in less than 3 minutes a genuinely spectacular and original disaster movie, being much better than stuff like "Independence Day" and "2012" in every single aspect.Apparently a feature length film inspired in this short is going to be made in the year 2015. I just hope that it keep the same level of quality than this. (Judging by the reviews I've read so far, it seems that the movie in question is not very good. Well, at least the short will remain being good despite inspiring such a weak movie)8/10
