At the height of her 'Friends' success, this film really is nothing more than a showcase for Jennifer Aniston to launch herself on the big screen. So we get to see her play sexy, adorably goofy, straight talking - at times it feels like this is her show reel for future directors to see. There's a fair bit of 'Rachel Green' in her role, but also some little differences thrown in too. This film is certainly more sexually aware. There is a story in amongst all this, and it's an alright one. Very cheesy in places, and quite contrived, but Aniston is fine in her role. Quite what Kevin Bacon is doing here though I don't know.If you're a fan of hers then I'm sure you'll enjoy this film.

I got this movie because I'm a big Jennifer Aniston fan. I don't think she's the greatest actress in the world - she's more like a movie personality. And I like her. This film is a nice little, sort of romantic tale. Good characters, interesting story and plot. Fairly predictable ending. However, the entire movie did a complete and total FAILURE with the ending. While watching the movie and the couple slips behind the pillar in the church and everyone is listening, I turned to my girlfriend and said, "If they do this horrible thing where everyone realizes they are going to be and they start to clap, I'm going to puke" Sure enough, the did the worst possible thing. How many movies - An Officer and a Gentleman, Shallow Hal, just to name a couple off the top of my head, have you seen this stupid scene in? I mean seriously, you're at a wedding, two total strangers interrupt it, and as a person in the audience you hear them talking, the clap! Cripes, if i was a movie producer and someone showed me a script with this tired old old ending, I'd throw it back at them and yell "come back with something original" Other than the totally horrible final, it was a nice film.

This film is a total waste of time. there is no chemistry whatsoever between Nick and Kate (the two main characters). the story is predictable and the couples are so awkward. I would rather watch some totally meaningless action movies and go to bed. For the sake of people who haven't watched this film. please take my advice and leave this page right now. Kate Mosley (Jennifer Aniston) is 28 year old working single girl. Darcy (Illeanna Douglas) is her best gal pal and boss. Sam (Kevin Bacon) is a sleazy co-worker who thinks she's too nice to date. She comes up with a pitch for the new big account but she gets left off the team. Her mom Rita (Olympia Dukakis) is itching for grandkids. She meets videographer Nick (Jay Mohr) working at her friend's wedding. The firm's boss Mercer (Kevin Dunn) thinks she's not settled enough so Darcy makes up a lie about Kate and Nick. Mercer gives her a promotion. Sam starts looking at her differently. Kate has to make up all kinds of lies about Nick. Nick becomes a big hero and Kate needs him for to help cover for her lies.None of the jokes work well if one can call any of them actual jokes. Aniston is charismatic enough for the single gal rom-com. The story is rather bland. There is no snap in the dialog. There is nothing terribly wrong with this movie other than that there is nothing terribly interesting here. Director Glenn Gordon Caron has given very little and seems to be relying on Aniston's charms. She's not good enough to carry this whole movie without any help. The other problem is that she and Jay don't spend a lot of quality time together until 42 minutes. The chemistry doesn't get developed enough. The good news is that they seem like a perfectly likable couple but that's not enough.
