I've read many of the reviews and after watching it, it's obvious that the well informed really like it and the low information folks don't get it. If you are poorly informed but want to prepare to watch this movie google the following:Recent Administration Actions 1.Falsely portrayed the Benghazi terrorist attack as a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim YouTube video, and then lied about the White House's involvement. 2.Issued signing statements, refusing to enforce parts of congressional- enacted statutes. 3.Killed four Americans overseas in counter terrorism operations without judicial process. 4.Had SWAT teams raid a Gibson guitar factory and seize property, on the purported basis that Gibson had broken India's environmental laws—but no charges were filed. 5.Government agencies are engaging in "Operation Choke Point," where the government asks banks to "choke off" access to financial services for customers engaging in conduct the Administration does not like—such as "ammunition sales." 6. Made illegal "recess" appointments to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the National Labor Relations Board when Congress wasn't in recess. Ignored the rulings of three federal courts of appeals that held those nominations unconstitutional. For further information read The "Cloward and Piven Strategy" and google whatisagenda21 then ask yourself about the TPP and the Iran Nuclear deal. If you don't understand what's wrong with the Iran Nuke deal look up 12ers. This is just the off the top of my head stuff but there's much more. In the light of recent events and the structural changes taking place around us this movie is actually reality light, and still it is terrifying.
... View MorePerhaps this movie was released a year too early. If you look through the reviews you will see many who say that persecution against Christians isn't happening. For those that truly believe that, you're either ignorant of current events or woefully prejudiced. Globally Christians are being horribly executed and here, in the USA, there is no longer a legal right to voice opinions according to one's own faith. This movie is about truth and lies, about good versus evil, about government going beyond its given rights. It's not about Christians being persecuted. It's about agendas being forwarded without the consent of the people. In a country where the media controls what is and is not distributed for consumption and most people not willing to seek out the truth, it is a look into the near future. Our legislators are approving legislation that they have not read and was not written by those we have elected to handle this job for us. The people's rights are being quickly overtaken. This movie is about what can, and probably has taken place to control those who will not submit. The acting is superb. The story is excellent and the suspense handled like mainstream movies. I would not agree that it is a 'Christian' movie. You will be on the edge of your seat. The main character says 'If you take away a man's freedom to speak his mind in a country founded on that very principle, then we have no country at all'. These are cautionary words for people of any faith and so 'ripped from the headlines'.

John Luther (Remar) is one of the premiere evangelists in the country and his opinions and values are widely respected. Senator Donald Harrison is championing a bill that deals with sweeping religious reform and he needs Luther's backing. When he refuses the Senator frames him for a murder and ruins his name. Now Luther must not only find who did this and why but he must also clear his name. My practice of not watching trailers before the movie has both good and bad points. The good points are that I don't know what to expect and any twists given away in the trailer are surprises to me. The bad thing about it is that I have certain expectations based solely on the poster or cover of the case. Most of the time it works in my favor. This is one exception. I was expecting a movie like Red State where there is an evil preacher. Without getting too political or religious I have to say the irony in this movie was very in your face. As for the movie itself this is yet again another movie where the idea is much better than the actual movie. This started off tense and interesting but quickly fell flat and uninspired. The best way to watch this movie is to watch the first 15 minutes and the last 5. Everything else is generic and flat. Overall, a movie that started off with so much promise but I quickly lost interest in and struggled to finish. I give this a C.
... View MoreI thought the movie was well done and reflects the undercurrents that are negative to the founding principals America. Persecuted has all the elements of the fallen attributes of man. Provoking to get the viewers to have to choose the way, truth and ultimately the eternal disposition of their own souls. The viewers must choose, not to choose is a choice on where you stand on matters of eternity. I would highly recommend people going and keeping an Open mind and you will understand how our apathy is destroying America! The time to act is now! a great president once said "there is no left or right only up or down" . The tyranny in America is accelerating so fast this true movie could be considered a prophecy of things to come very soon. All parts was well acted.
