Nationally acclaimed evangelist John Luther is the last obstacle in the way of sweeping religious reform in the States. When a U.S. Senator and Luther's own supporters abduct and frame him in the murder of an innocent teenage girl, an unprecedented era of persecution is unleashed. Out on personal recognizance, Luther escapes police surveillance in search of the truth. And suddenly, a once-normal life is targeted by a team of ex-military operatives who wage a relentless campaign to eliminate the incriminating evidence. As evangelist turned fugitive, Luther vows to expose anyone involved with or profiting from the girl's murder; a mission that brings him face-to-face with the coming storm of persecution that will threaten the entire Christian community in America.

The story told in "Persecuted" reveals an incurrent that is growing in our culture. It accurately portrays the clash of worldviews that dominated our world. Those who stand up and speak truth as they perceive it will be challenged and opposed. Such has been the case historically and continues to be presently. I would highly recommend that anyone with a current understanding of the political and religious climate watch this movie to further understand where our culture is headed. Don't tune this movie out simply because of the religious undertones because this message is relevant to everyone regardless of your religious beliefs. This is a must see movie that will open your eyes to what is possible if we don't guard our rights as American citizens.

Perhaps this movie was released a year too early. If you look through the reviews you will see many who say that persecution against Christians isn't happening. For those that truly believe that, you're either ignorant of current events or woefully prejudiced. Globally Christians are being horribly executed and here, in the USA, there is no longer a legal right to voice opinions according to one's own faith. This movie is about truth and lies, about good versus evil, about government going beyond its given rights. It's not about Christians being persecuted. It's about agendas being forwarded without the consent of the people. In a country where the media controls what is and is not distributed for consumption and most people not willing to seek out the truth, it is a look into the near future. Our legislators are approving legislation that they have not read and was not written by those we have elected to handle this job for us. The people's rights are being quickly overtaken. This movie is about what can, and probably has taken place to control those who will not submit. The acting is superb. The story is excellent and the suspense handled like mainstream movies. I would not agree that it is a 'Christian' movie. You will be on the edge of your seat. The main character says 'If you take away a man's freedom to speak his mind in a country founded on that very principle, then we have no country at all'. These are cautionary words for people of any faith and so 'ripped from the headlines'.

If I could have voted less than "1", I would have. AWFUL movie. I don't know why the actors took such crappy roles, but they must have been really needing the money! Honestly, it is just a right-wing propaganda film.... I would end the review here, but it is too short. So...I guess I have no choice but to bash it some more! The lighting was awful. The camera shots were confusing. The actors were OK, but the roles themselves were just not believable. The premise of the film was actually intriguing (otherwise I wouldn't have seen it), but they totally failed. There was no attempt to provide any background for the characters and the "persecution" was on an individual who just happened to be a Christian. Not of all Christians. I see how this would have been an "inspiring" film if you were a member of CPAC....but otherwise....nah. If you believe that the Gays and Muslims are soon to be beheading Christians in their front yards anyway now, then you will probably like this "movie". Otherwise don't wast your time!

I watched the movie and was shocked that the "bad guy" is a senator that is trying to legislate a bill that guarantees religious freedom and tolerance. The "good guy" on the other end is a preacher that is against religious freedom and states that only Christian faith is acceptable. This is really really not up to democratic and modern standards. This is purely a Christian propaganda film that is supporting intolerance. I do not know how anything like this is even made in the twenty-first century. This is the worst movie I have seen in years.
