Something terrible is happening in class 3A at Calmecatl Junior High. No one can leave the classroom until the guilty party is found. This is the device that gives us a glimpse of the ethics, games, esthetics and eroticism of these girl-women. It is not easy to say what the subject is, there are so many: the discovery of sexuality, discrimination, chance, drugs, maternity, traditions, betrayals, power, love. A mural of a complex reality from the point of view of twenty-something women in the skin of 14 to 15 year old girls.

So what you most people look for in a movie? A good plot, good acting, good scenery, good score...basically overall decent filmography. This movie has no interesting plot, the acting is absolutely terrible, scenery makes Mexico look like we're living in the 50's, no music, nothing, I mean at least some nudity (kidding, kind of). Don't waste your time. Mexico has produced some excellent low budget movies; what they lack in budget is made up for in creativity and good plot.I support Mexican cinematography 100% but I cannot in good conscience recommend this incredibly boring, annoying, dull movie to anyone...don't waste your time.I've written few movie reviews and as a true film buff I always try to see the better part of movies. I honestly could not find anything good except for some half decent girls which honestly is not something I look for in a movie; might as well just look up the pictures of these girls; takes less time out of your life.

This movie is about different social problems in Mexico, however I think that if you are not Mexican it would be difficult for you to realize what it is true (issues that occur in Mexico) and what it's not. There are several exaggerations and parts that are not so well performed, the script is not so natural in several parts of the movie. Moreover some connotations are not according to the age (teenagers don't like Luis Miguel, that for girls over thirty). In general the production was not so good. I don't like perspective that "all girls want to be f***ed" and the tittle shows a very misogynous perspective that it is not correct in any part of the movie. None of the girls seems to have a healthy youth or sexuality. You can realize that the movie was done by a guy. Anyway, there were parts in the movie that I liked as the part of the family that goes to live with the grandma or how teenagers love TV.

After consulting movie critics reviews and some other posts in the Internet, I give "Perras" the benefit of the doubt and while I cannot say it is a masterpiece, for me it worked. While the plot has been used in several movies, and some movie goers might say the the sexual innuendo and language is excessive, I consider these two elements as crucial as the Director story-telling style of today's youth.A group of young girls are being detained in a classroom until investigation of something horrible that had happened in their school. At the same time, they start trying to figure out which of them was to blame for such atrocity. From that starting point, the movie take you to understand the motives and dreams of each girl.Probably the best part of the movie is the individual presentation of each of the girls and while the movie only present a glimpse of their lives (and in some cases, the reasons why they are like they are), the Director did a good job.Yes , it is Mexican cinema, NO, it is not better (or worse) than others past Mexican productions, but being honest, even if you are not a parent, I recommend this movie if not for the morale message, for its credit to present a good history in an entertaining display of dramatic scenes, and decent performances of a group of young girls.
